Forgiven

[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

[ Rolling her eyes, though clearly amused, she teleports off without another word - and doesn't reappear until she's gathered a good amount of supplies. Writing parchment, her quill pen, red ink (of course), envelopes, and her perfume, for good measure.

Setting herself up before the fireplace, she puts her pillow down to prop herself on while laying out on her stomach, legs bent and crossed at the ankles. She hums to herself, drawing the pretty feather of her quill under her chin as she pulls for inspiration! ]

[ It surprises him when she's suddenly vanished, but it gives him the chance to head back to the kitchen and refresh their drinks again. What he shouldn't be surprised about is finding her splayed out on the floor, deep in thought with all her supplies around her. He shakes his head, setting her cup within reaching distance. ]

Honestly, I thought you were going to put on a performance again, not literally write it down.

[ She turns her head, plopping her cheek in her hand to give him a pointed look! ]

You said 'write', Will! If you wanted free form verse, that's entirely different.

Fine. Compose, then.

[ Situating himself he enjoys another treat with a sip of his tea. ]

[ Grell can't help but smile when taking up her cup to inhale its scent. ]

Well, now it would be a waste not to.

[ Feet swaying whilst she jots down ideas, she occasionally hums or croons when coming across a good one. Once she's got her rough draft down, she folds up the paper to toss into the fire! It's on to rewriting it in flowing script, then, working little hearts into its punctuation, and finishing it off with the note, To my beloved William, Grell, written extravagantly and dated. Once she's satisfied, she holds the paper up to finally mist the back, and gently waves in about to dry! ]

[ The whole process is oddly intriguing to watch. He almost comments on her discarding the first sheet, but keeps it to himself when he sees the flowing red cursive start on the fresh piece of parchment. His eyes squint as he can't quite read it from the distance she's at, even with his renewed eyesight. ]

I will admit, I've always found that perfume of yours to be quite nice.

Really~?

[ She peers back at him, chin pressed to her shoulder, with a bat of her lashes! ]

Well, I'll never change it now♥. [ And now confident that it's dried enough, she folds it up carefully into thirds, tucking it into an envelope, in which she simply - but elegantly - writes his name. ]

Good. You'll have to tell me what it is so I can make sure you're well stocked.

[ Perhaps a hint at his newfound openness to celebrating Saint Valentine's Day together? Assuming she'll hand him the note, he sets his tea aside and brushes any crumbs from his fingers. ]

[ Brightening at the suggestion, she crawls over not unlike a cat on the hunt. ]

What's better is that you'll have access to it any time you'd like, at my vanity. You won't have the chance to forget.

[ Settling down next to William with her legs curled beside her, she holds out the letter for him to take. Anticipating his reaction, her gaze flickers over his face, to the way he holds the letter, and back again, teeth pressed into her lip just so.

The sonnet she's written for him uses language reminiscent of her most idolised writer, unsurprisingly - and though she wouldn't consider herself to harbour even an ounce of the talent he had, as a mere actress, the imagery she invokes certainly isn't bad. She writes of the turning of seasons, the passing of years, and how hope exists in seeing them through by his side; that, without him, time would stand still and her world would shrivel and die, more or less! In perfectly flowery, romantic words, of course. ]

[ Surprisingly, William doesn't just skim the paper and make a quick and critical judgement before tossing the note aside. He takes his time, reading the lines carefully as to decipher just what the true meaning of the words are - not that it wasn't terribly obvious beforehand. He may even have read it twice!

When he's through, the note is carefully folded back up and returned to its envelope. He closes his eyes, enjoying the scent of the perfume lingering in the air, but not commenting on it further. ]

Honestly, this means far more to me now than it could have ever before.

[ It's more than she was expecting, and her heart is simply overflowing upon witnessing his approval. Hands clasped, and eyes even a bit misty, she leans closer. ]

Would I have said so otherwise?

[ There's a bit of impatience at her not getting that yet, but it subsides quickly enough as he tucks the note safely on the side table. ]

[ With a tick of her tongue, she crawls up onto his lap. ]

That would've been your cue to explain why, you know.

[ Still, she's smiling. ]

I would think that's obvious.

[ He allows her to settle in his lap, resting his hands on her hips. ]

Because I've allowed myself to open up and accept things I previously tried to ignore. Reading this before would have simply been an annoyance to me. But now, I feel like it's proof I have done something right, for once. I've made you happy, and in turn, done the same for myself.

[ one side of her smile pulls a bit higher, because she certainly had an idea, but William is just learning how to open up - and by communicating such things, he's also helping himself make it feel that much more real! ]

You're absolutely right about that♥. [ She cups his cheeks, leaning in to kiss him, brief and sweet. ]

[ He hums pleasantly into the kiss, his expression calm in the warm light of the fire. ]

Would you like me to massage your back?

[ Brows raised, her eyes spoil her answer before she has the chance to give it. ]

I would love for you to massage my back. [ Another peck! ] Shall I lay down..?

I certainly can't do so with you in my lap.

[ And as soon as she gets up, he will as well, and head into her room to find something to use for massage oil. ]

[ Playfully biting her tongue at him, she rises up to her knees to shimmy off his lap. While he disappears into the room, she makes herself comfortable on the blankets, fluffing her pillow to nestle her arms around and rest her head on top of. ]

The nightstand, my looove~♥ [ She calls after him. It's where she's stored the essentials for their romantic rendezvous, it seems. ]

[ After looking through her vanity, and picking up nearly every bottle, she finally calls to him. Ah, he should have known to check there. Returning to the room, he kneels down beside her. ]

I know your hips hurt but is there anywhere else I should focus on.

[ He's not super experienced with this, or at all really, but he's willing to put in the effort. ]

[ Grell bats her lashes up at him, wiggling her bottom playfully - even if it smarts a bit! ]

The lower back, too, I suppose. I'll take whatever I can get, really. [ A breathy chuckle. ]

[ There's a brief nod before he climbs over her, effectively straddling her upper thighs. The thin fabric of her nightie is pushed up to her shoulders, then her panties are shimmied down just enough to expose her hips.

The scent of the oil catches William's attention for a moment, but then without warning a pool of it forms on her lower back. He probably should have warmed it up somehow first! ]

[ Yes, especially in comparison to the warm and comfortable air before the fire, the oil makes her jolt with a yelp at how cold it is!! Not only that, it's quite a lot! ]

Unless you'd like to slide me over to the bath after, we may need a towel...

Shouldn't it soak into your skin?

[ Ignoring her comment about the towel, he attempts to work it around, coating more than just the area he was intending to focus on. It should be obvious now that he's never given anyone a massage. Not even his former wife! Grell's his first, and maybe last if this start is any indication to how this will go. ]

[ Grell grimaces, clutching her pillow! ]
