[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

[ Yes that means he'd been scoping out the situation before actually coming to retrieve her. ]

[ Her eyes widen, head whipping toward him! The redheads lips are parted in aghast! ]

We were assessing the situation. [ Yes, we. ] Determining how to remedy the situation. And how to deal with you, afterwards.

[ Perhaps she's hoping to hear some form of jealousy to his tone, but it's just as stern as ever. ]

As for what was seen, you should assume nothing was ignored.

[ Her cheeks redden at the implication. There were certainly some things that she hadn't intended for William to see - and she could care less about the murders, truly. ]

You don't have to speak as my superior any longer, William. [ Her brows knit with a frown. ] Vague, empty words... [ Okay, maybe she's being a little touchy. ]

[ Okay, but he can understand that request. He attempts to soften his own features, at least relaxing his brows. ]

Honestly, it's a force of habit, by this point. I will say, I was more surprised at your intimacy with a woman than at what those actions were.

[ With a sigh, her hold relaxes, in turn. Tossing her hair, her gaze wanders. ]

As was I. I'd never been abject to the idea, exactly, more like-- previously disinterested.

I suppose that's how it works, though. You don't realise what you may enjoy until it's presented to you.

[ She glances back to William with a lopsided little smile. ]

Unless you're so stubborn that you should ignore It for a century.

[ His grunt only proves her statement true. ]

No more complaining. That's resolved now.

[ She chuckles, seemingly veering on a better mood. ]

Who was with you, then?

The same comity that sentenced you this time. You should know not much has changed in terms of reassignment. It seldom does.

A full audience, then! [ That brings a wry grin. ] I suppose it's my fault, allowing myself to be so distracted that I should miss the lot of you.

Speaking from experience, now, you get very caught up in the moment. I'd have been surprised if you did notice.

[ Considering those words, the reaper thinks back comparatively, blinking at her gaze searches the sky above them. ]

Mn, I certainly was caught up. It blinded me to much more than simply that. What a mistake that was.

[ A big sigh, at that! ]

I might've been open to sharing, to answer your precious question. My heart was confused, my affections deep.

[ He sounds genuinely surprised at hearing that. ]

[ Closing her eyes, she nods with an assuring hum. ]

I'd had given you, and her, anything - and so, in that sense, it seems logical, doesn't it?

[ Lashes fluttering, she finds herself looking at him with surprise once more. ]

[ It took a journey to get her here, but she thinks she's finally got it! Her features pull into a sharp grin. ]

[ Tongue darting over her lips, she chuckles. ]

And we've only just begun.

[ That has him heaving a rather exasperated sigh. But the lack of true frustration or irritation is plainly evident. ]

Where were we off to now? We seem to have wandered a bit off track.

[ Looking up ahead, she points to the London Cathedral in the distance. ]

I wanted to ask you, William, if you'd take me over the Cathedral, and out to the Bridge. Using your wings, of course.

[ settling her chin on his shoulder, she shines him the most brilliant pointy-toothed grin!! ]

[ Looking up to the cathedral, he silently contemplates it. Surely he doesn't care if any mortals see. That never posed an issue to him as a reaper. ]
