William dropped down from his horse. It had been a long ride - from London straight down to the southern coast of England. But he'd barely stopped, only doing so when his horse refused to go further without rest and water. But each time, William did little more than tap his foot anxiously, trying to focus on anything but his thoughts of what happened the day before.
But now that he'd arrived, there was nothing else to distract him. The horse was forgotten as he walked towards where the English Channel extended out to what seemed like eternity. With the thick fog of the early morning, there was no telling just what was out there. William's breath was shaky as his gaze then drifted down. Beachy Head, a beautiful site for some, with the tall cliff towering over the shore line below. But for him, this day, it was his enemy - or perhaps his closes friend. Whichever the case, he was terrified.

Honestly, I may just fall asleep here.
[ And it doesn't sound like he has any issue with that happening. ]

With a chuckle, she rests her head against his shoulder. ]
Mn. I think this is what I always dreamt home to be.

[ The blanket is pulled up practically to their chins and William finds his eyes drifting closed before he realises it. ]
no subject
How do you see it? [ She murmurs, sleepily. ]
no subject
[ As he says it, he realises that's precisely what is happening. ]
Actually, I believe I have to agree with you, now.
no subject
Yes, it's very much that. Also, a sense of warmth. Safety.

[ Underneath the blanket, William's hand moves to rest atop the one at his opposite elbow. ]
no subject
Do you think it's silly? To feel so close with you so soon.

[ he allows the touch. The moment is just so calm and pleasing that he's unwilling to disrupt it. ]
no subject
Fair enough. Thank God for your intuition.

[ He'd been terrified of himself even having the thought, let alone standing on that cliff top, moments away from completing the action. ]

[ As she ponders the question, she idly dances her fingers along his. ]
I don't know that the idea scares me, but I wouldn't like to disappoint you.

[ He catches her fingers in his, holding them steady in his hand. ]
no subject
I wouldn't wish to leave you alone, or forfeit this future you've promised for us, either.
no subject
[ With a hum, his eyes shut and his head leans against hers. The stress he normally feels has near left him entirely. ]
no subject
I have faith in you, Will.

[ He's quiet for a bit, but suddenly shifts as if roused from sleep. Seems he really was comfortable! ]
no subject
I'll watch the fire.

[ Not much of an ordeal really, but to go from pushing her aside from nuzzling his shoulder to full on cuddling her in his arms in one day is not something he would have seen himself doing. Yet, as he's saying as much, he follows her down, tucking his arm beneath her as they squeeze together on the small sofa. ]
no subject
You're sure it's alright?
[ Still, she will adjust the blanket around them to ensure he's warm. ]
no subject
[ Though he hardly sounds like he'll change his mind on it. With a slight shift to his position, he finds himself being as comfortable as he was moments ago and lets out a content sigh. ]
no subject
We forgot all about the books, didn't we...
[ Still, she will attempt to push the thought from her mind, eyes briefly closing. ]
Though, I think I enjoy that we don't need any other source of entertainment in one another's company.

[ He would have thought anyone would, to be honest. He knows he's not exactly the most vibrant of personalities. ]

Truly? You, the man that kidnapped me from Beachy Head and suggest that I, a complete stranger, live in your home. You, that inexplicably accepts me for what I am, encourages me to embrace who I am. You've filled my heart with excitement since we've met, Will.

[ Though, he doesn't sound like he takes issue with that. ]
