[ What began as a heated conversation seemed to earn the curiosity of the lobby's dawdlers and passer-bys-- until it became downright explosive. The boisterous tone of voice was all too recognisable, for everyone there had found themselves subjected to Grell's charades at least once, and for most, that was one time too many. The smartest of them would turn on heel and leave the direction they came.

Unfortunately, those that were in the immediate vicinity wouldn't have such privilege. A foolish, albeit good-hearted young woman had just stepped between Grell and the target of her aggression, in hopes of diffusing the situation. Instead, the enraged redhead snatched the new receptionist by the hair. ]

Oh, is this what it's all about, then! This wagtail bitch?!

[ Immediately, several reapers jump in to take Grell's arms and detach her. While they are successful, it only earns a face-splitting grin from her - for, now, she has a better distraction. Flipping one man over her shoulder, she gives him a splitting kick before turning on the rest of them. It's nothing short of a brawl. ]

[ Those false lashes of hers will tickle his neck once more; she blinks, languidly, as she absorbs his words and processed them. Humming, she brushes her fingertips along one of his upper arms. ]

Hn. I imagine we've all closed ourselves off, in some way, in the simple interest of functioning beyond death.

[ Well, it seems the alcohol has made her rather sympathetic to his situation. Even a touch tender! She can't help but snerk a bit at herself. ]

Rather than put up a fight of any sort, she resigned. She failed you, darling. A waste of a woman, truly.

It will be some time before I can think of her in such a way.

[ Stubborn and closed off as he is, he'd loved her. William leans forward just enough to reach into the small travel bag he'd brought along. He fetches out a small box, presumably with the ring inside it. ]

Would you care for this, then? I doubt I will need it any longer. Perhaps it will fit.

[ Grell very nearly goes along with him while he leans, but it's with curiosity that she allows him the space to do so. Her hands relocate to settle at his shoulders, peering over one as he proceeds to show her the box. It gets her to draw a sharp breath. ]

What-- really?

[ Why is her throat tightening like this? Swallowing it down, she shakes her head. ]

I've always dreamt of a man giving me a ring, but not under these circumstances...

[ Still, she's very interested to see what he'd purchased for her, so she'll reach for the box, if he'll allow her to take it. ]

This isn't a proposal.

[ William frowns at her over his shoulder, but allows her to take the box. Inside, quite a unique ring is nestled. Gold band and a brilliant aquamarine stone. Certainly the taste of who was meant to receive it. Grell...maybe not so much. ]

[ None too subtly, Grell's nose wrinkles! ]

Well, thank God.

[ Reaching to cup his cheek, she's certain to look him in the eye. ]

I need you to promise that you'll never buy another ring without me there to advise.

[ William's brow creases in turn. ]

It's a perfectly nice ring. She wasn't a fan of ruby or garnet, if that's your issue with it.

[ Raising a brow, she huffs! ]

Please. Red would never have suited her.

[ Her arms encircle William, so that they may look at the ring together. ]

It's sizeable, surely, but for all the space it takes, it lacks detail! The implications of a flower shape are a horrifically simplified idea of femininity, and the stone's colour doesn't lean much in the way of romance, don't you think?

I assumed because it was her favorite stone that made it a fine choice.

[ He sighs. Yeah romance isn't his strong suit, that's for certain. ]

I doubt the jeweler will refund me, too.

[ Snapping the box closed, she rests her chin upon his shoulder with a hum. ]

Your intentions were far prettier, Will. And don't think that the generosity of your gesture was lost on me, either!

[ Taking his hand, she places the box back in it. ]

Remind me. I'll see what I can do.

Perhaps you should give me some lessons in romance.

[ He's mainly being sarcastic, but he has to know Grell will take that 100% literally. ]

Don't go threatening the man.

[ Indeed, she does, and it gets an intrigued purr out of her. ]

You offer me fun and take it away all at once! Always the tease~♥

[ Teeth pressing into her lower lip, she maintains hold on his hand while she stands, tugging him along toward the master bedroom. The other grabs what's left of the gin. ]

You have that working for you.

You just find everything I do to be a tease, regardless of my intentions.

[ Knowing she's not going to let go without some sort of violent action on his part, he leaves it be. Wouldn't want the gin to spill! He grabs up his bag before following along. ]

[ Surprisingly, her room seems to be the cleanest part of her flat - and there's the distinct linger of her rose perfume settled into its furnishings. Everything's decorated to her taste, rich red fabrics and mahogany wood, plush comfort, decadence! Her bed is oversized, but she's still managed to fit a vanity. ]

What I hear is that you're a naturally seductive man!

[ As soon as they're in the room, he gives a slight shake to his hand to get her to let go. Should it work, he'll move to the vanity, setting his bag beside it, and the ring box atop it. He's not at all surprised by the furnishings, but he'll admit it's well put together. ]

Who is saying such things?

[ It does, but only so that she may twirl to sit at the edge of the bed, hand posed at her hip! ]

Me.

[ And, with a pause, she takes a swig directly from the bottle, before holding it out to him! ]

More proof of how delusional you are.

[ He apparently doesn't think he's seductive, at all. But he will take that bottle, after a slight pause for consideration, since it has just been on Grell's lips. ]

[ Raising her eyebrow daringly, she wags the bottle at him until he takes it! ]

Self-depreciation, however, is not as attractive.

[ He'll approach, taking the bottle and daring to side beside her on her bed. ]

I believe a bit of that is unavoidable, given how we all arrived in this afterlife.

[ He takes two swigs before returning the bottle to her. ]

[ One arm on the bed, she crosses her legs, leaning into face him whilst taking the bottle back. ]

Of course, darling, but it's all about the presentation.

[ Speaking of, she seems to be taking his in, as she knocks back another drink. Licking over her lips, she's awfully close when she presses the bottle against his chest. ]

[ Taking back the bottle, William otherwise remains unmoving. Those stern eyes are fixated on Grell's. ]

You're doing a fairly good job of that this evening.

[ What the hell is he saying? He shouldn't take another drink but he's kind of beyond realising that's a bad idea now. ]

[ Now, that seems to spark a fire in her eyes! Lashes lowering, she searches his, lips curling into a feral grin. ]

Mn, is that so~? Tell me more♥.

[ Reaching over, she traces a finger over the button fly of his collar. Those boring old pajamas. They'd be better off on her floor, she thinks. ]

[ His eyes drift down, but not to where she's playing with the buttons of his shirt. Instead, they've found their way down her torso and along the smooth skin of her legs. Sometimes, he thinks, if he didn't know she was male under all that, he'd be fooled. He should keep that to himself. Yes, definitely. ]

You've managed to seduce a straight man into your bed. Certainly this lingerie is working well on you.

[ It isn't as though Grell needs permission for much of anything, but that seems to be more than sufficient reason for her to go in for the catch. She hooks a finger into his collar, to pull him in closer, eyes on his lips as she leans in too incredibly close. ]

I suppose I'll be leaving it on, then.

You will be.

[ She may be tugging him in, but he's the one taking the kiss. Forceful and surprisingly experienced. He takes her bottom lip between his before tilting his head to deepen the embrace. ]

[ It does catch her quite by surprise, indeed! With how cold as he makes himself out to be, she finds herself melting into his advances. The breath she draws between their lips gives way to the softest purr, hands running up along his arms, and over his shoulders. She'd never noticed how sculpted he was - but then, she'd never had him pressed against her before, either! ]

Don't-- hold anything back. [ She mutters against his lips, as she may. ]
