All Work & No Play

[Honestly, they're all exhausted - not tired but just worn out physically - after getting called all the way over here to help deal with a sudden rapid spike of missing souls which had been caused, unsurprisingly by an influx of demons. It was an odd thing and they still needed to pinpoint the origin of this matter, after all. Neither they nor the Paris Reapers could figure out what can caused an entire legion of Hells most foul to ascend on the city of lights.

Thankfully, with the five of them working pulled through just fine even if Alan was just a junior and Ronald was a rookie still. 

At least the hotel was nice even if they had to bunk up; two beds to each room. At least they had adjoining rooms so if they wanted they could throw the door between the two rooms open and interact.

Alan closed the field kit he'd been using to tend even their most minor of injuries; huffing out a tired but relieved breath. His chest ached just slightly and his shoulders slumped a little bit.] 

Well, that was certainly interesting if I don't say so myself. I know we've still got a few more days here in the city just to make sure things are well in hand an find answers, but what do we do for now? I mean - what do you even do in Paris?   

[He turned toward his bed where a rather large suitcase was tucking the field kit away. He'd brought a few things with him. They'd put all their belongings into this singular suitcase - fresh suits, documentations they needed when they went to Paris's dispatch branch for briefings and reports, a few other odds and ends.]

[ Considering he has yet to kick her in the face and escape her grasp, that says quite a lot about her abilities in giving foot massages. Gosh, William may even be relaxing a bit! ]

It is a rather simple task. Why no one else seems to be able to do so is remarkable to me.

[ She ends the massage on one foot by gently rolling his ankle - and then, it’s on to the next. ]

[ He lifts the other foot for her to take in hand. ]

Honestly to be taken down by an average student. You're slacking.

[ William's the only one whose got the balls to say something like that to the unstable redhead, too. ]

[ Futhermore, his words get an amused croon out of her, rather than a summoning of her deathscythe. Truly, only he could get away with it. ]

Average student - but an exceptional man.

[ Yes, he’s tamed the wild beast... and now, she’s even rubbing his feet! The thought nearly earns a roll her eyes, though she grins to herself. ]

One with unmatched nerve, I’d say!

[The touch sends a thrill through Eric. His eye scans the street. Cafes are abundant and he picks one with patio lights and outdoor seating with a few of the tower.]

There.

[He can't help how broad his smile is.]

Forget about that. I'll deal with Spears.

[ He's just going to ignore the fact that Eric picked one of the most romantic views of the tower and city. ]

Let's go then.

[ Alan tugged at Eric's sleeve as he eagerly, excitedly lead him along. ]

I'm a man of my word you know. But we can take a little detour and blame it on a language barrier or something. My French really isn't that good when it comes to speaking I'm better at reading and writing it.

[Eric's heart flies into the air as Alan tugs at his sleep. He can't help but laugh.]

We'll say we got lost. Come on. Let's see what they have to eat.

Something tells me you're just happy I'm going along with your shenanigans an letting you break rules a little.

[ He snorted softly. ]

That might be a bit hard to believe since I really did go to every bar and liquor store near the hotel but we'll think of something.

Hm.

[ He hums a simple response, then quiets, watching her fingers work. ]

It is making this situation seem even more out of place. I don't believe we've ever shared such a calm moment.

[ With a shake of the head, there’s some disbelief on Grell’s features, too - for that’s a complaint she never imagined that she’d hear from William! ]

Oh, well, if I’m boringness you, I could always takes things up a notch.

[ Lids lower, and a saucy little grin on her lips, she massages just a little deeper as her tongue hooks up over her teeth! ]

We'll be fine. [Eric is still grinning.] Let me deal with Spears. You won't get into trouble.

And yeah... I am.

[Alan holds tight to his arm even as they arrive at the café.]

I'm not really that worried. I just think it's good that we do something a little different. How many times will we get to come to Paris like this?

[It was his fault. He'll take all the blame. He won't let Alan be in trouble.]

Not enough.

[A waiter directs her to a table. Eric picks up a menu.]

What do you want to try?

[ William's calm demeanour immediately switches back to it's usual state. A frown creases his brow and he gives Grell a decently hard kick to her shoulder. ]

That was not a complaint.

[As they arrive at the table Alan is taking a seat and humming softly as he picked up the menu looking it over curiously.]

Mm, I'm more interested in dessert honestly. I may just skip anything else and go right for something sweet instead with some tea. What about you?

[ochitashinigami]

[Eric cocks his head]

What about creps?

[amongthethorns]

Oh. That's a good idea. Strawberry crepes sound absolutely perfect. I'm absolutely set now. Tea and strawberry crepes with cream.

[He places the menu down on the table once more.]

What about you? Are you going to get crepes too or something else?

[Eric smiles warmly.]

I'll have the same thing. It sounds perfect.

[amongthethorns]

[Now that he thinks about it they've stopped for coffee or something to eat before but it'd never been anything like this. It was a date but now that he thinks about it they've kind of been on dates before, right? But this is different somehow.]

Well, that explains why you were able to think of it so quickly if it was something you already wanted. [There was a pause before he tilted his head.] I didn't take you to be the romantic café date type. You still have some surprises up you sleeve, I see.

[He blushes a moment then tries to laugh]

Oh you know, It's the closest thing. And, we'll have fun.

[He gives their order to a waiter and turns back to Alan, still grinning.]

You don't mind?

Oh? did you want something else, then? You should have ordered that.

[He rolled his eyes. Sometimes Eric is too much, too endearing.]

Why would I mind? It's kind of sweet to know you're almost as much of a sap as I am sometimes.

No, it's what I want. [He chuckles warmly]

So tell me what you think about all this? This trip... all of it.

As long as you're sure.

[Alan gave a little shrug.]

I've always wanted to come to Paris so this is the perfect excuse. Might not be too happy it's because of demons and work though but it got me here so I can't be too mad about it. I really hope we get a chance to sight see a little.

We've dealt with demons before. And I wouldn't let anything harm you.

[He feels his stomach drop and his heart ache with guilt. But he reaches out for Eric's hand over the table forcing his smile to stay in place.]

Don't be silly. I know that. You'd never let me be hurt. I'm not really worried about that - not with all of us here looking out for each other.
