[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

[ She should also he happy that he's stopped wiping her kisses off his cheek...and then rushing off to wash his hands! ]

[ Blinking, her head tilts back, lips quirked with a lengthy hum. ]

How attuned are you to office gossip?

Honestly, what do you think the answer to that is? I never had time to pay it any mind.

Of course not. [ Sigh! ] Well, there may be a few, in that case...

Okay, goodness! [ Her lips quirk with a huff. ] I made a love potion of your coffee once. Coincidentally, you had come down with a violent stomach ache after lunch...

[ He opens his mouth to comment on why she would think a love potion is a real thing, only to have the memory of that day coming to him. It gets him to stop short, a rather displeased look on his face. ]

That was your fault? [ Why is he surprised, really. ] I was vomiting for near an hour.

Well, it might've worked. Look at you now!

[ Ok, she might have to turn away to hide that flickering smile! ]

[ Too bad she turned away, cause he won't see that smack upside her head coming. ]

[ With a yelp, she clings her weight to his arm in order to stay upright on her feet, head cradled against his shoulder. ]

I-- I think it was the rain water! London air isn't the cleanest...

You put rain water in my coffee?

[ Have a second smack! ]

[ What follows is a whimper that might sound far too enticed for the situation at hand! ]

[ William lowers his hand, opting against yet a third smack. Perhaps simply because she'd begun to enjoy it. Someday maybe it will click that that's not the best punishment to use. ]

What in Heaven's name made you think something like that would work?

[ Invoking Heaven's name like that, Grell has to take a moment to press her fingers against her lips, resisting some inappropriately-timed laughter at the Angel's words. ]

Really, I'm certain that you can imagine it! Being desperate for something to nudge us in the right direction!

You'd prefer my affections come from some food induced hypnosis, then.

[ Sometimes - most times - she irritates him enough that even the godly beings above would agree to his word choices. ]

I had been convinced that the affections were already there and just needed an-- outlet of sorts!

[ A huff! ]

It was foolish and I'm sorry, alright? [ She near blurts out. ]

[ Seemingly pleased that she apologised at all, he urges them to continue walking. ]

You realise I am going to be wary of every cup you place in front of me.

[ Settling down against his shoulder, she holds his arm to her chest with a pout! ]

Apparently, you don't recall how I was fussing over - in penance, yes - but I went so far as to turn all of my paperwork in 'til the end of the month!! [ Because that totally makes up for it. ]

You've nothing to worry about now, besides. Unless you'll be getting sweet on other women.

[ There's a huff and shake of his head at her final comment. ]

Honestly, I wouldn't condemn any woman to the fate that would bring them.

[ She nuzzles her cheek to him-- not enough to ruin her makeup, though!! ]

[ He allows the affection, probably the quickest he's forgiven her for making him mad. ]

How many of our coworkers have you assaulted over me, anyway?

[ Pleased enough to give a purring hum, she bats her lashes at him. ]

Well, now I'm not certain that you would like to know the truth!

Considering how many ladies in HR were hesitant to speak with me only days after I met them, I can imagine quite a bit.

[ Grell's grin dissipates as she gauges his expression more seriously. Well, if he's pushing the subject, then it's on him if he's upset, right? ]

Mn, well, if you make an example of one, they all tend to do the work for you, really. Of course, every now and then, some new broad would come out of the woodworks to test me and earn her place as the new paradigm...

[ The edges of her lips flicker back into a smirk at such recollections! ]

[ A shake of his head. Of course he never understood why the women were drawn to him, to begin with. But perhaps he should have saved everyone the hassle and denied any interest outright. ]

It makes me rather curious what would have come of your partner in crime, should she have approached me.
