I suppose it is a bit much to dine in. Plus, we wouldn't want anything to ruin the fabric before the gala's even started.

[ With an amused breath, she turns herself back to face the mirror, continuing with her makeup, anyway. ]

Perhaps we can eat light snacks while we're out to get your mother's flowers? Might be best to save our appetite, in any case.

That may be the best option.

[ A corset is retrieve from the dresser, as well as some other undergarments. Whether or not he's fetched what she'd prefer to wear is another matter. ]

[ Hand stilling, she watches him in the mirror. Did he retrieve her undergarments, too? Biting her lip, she snickers. ]

Did you just randomly choose any old thing, or is there a method to your madness here?

[ Looking down to what he's chosen, he frowns. ]

Did I not get what you'd need?

[ She turns to look at him over her shoulder, brows pressed with a little laugh. ]

I believe so, but there's more to choose from. Different designs and colours to complement the gown, you know.

[ Now he looks even more perplexed! ]

You are wearing them beneath the gown. What does it matter?

Twirling on the dance floor, I might offer a glimpse, for example!

[ She's a bit confused that she has to explain this to him, a man, who should appreciate what's under a woman's gown! ]

In any case, it adds confidence, feeling beautiful through each layer, from one's outerwear, down to the skin.

You should not be showing off your pants to others while we're dancing.

[ Okay, he sounded super possessive there, didn't he? He huffs, pushing that comment aside and redirecting. ]

However, if it makes you feel more confident, I can't argue that.

[ Ah, and why does it make Grell's lashes flutter so? Lips pressed to contain that grin of hers, she's carefully applying rouge along her cheeks, pretending not to notice too much! ]

No one will be interested in my pants, and I certainly couldn't oblige any interest in them, either!

[ A chuckle. ]

You've done so well with the gown, why don't you coordinate them for me?

[ He's about to say 'as it should be.' to her first comment, but he holds himself back. ]

[ It takes him a bit of time, rummaging through the drawers and holding various stockings to match against garters and pants. ]

Near everything here is red, to begin with. I don't see how anything would mismatch.

[ Applying makeup down her neck and around her decolletage, she then begins to apply a faint contour to mimic more feminine features. ]

The cut and styling would. If you're unsure, just pick what you like.

[ That has him sorting through everything a second, and even third time! By the time she's finished he'll have laid out his selection on the bed beside the dress. The garters are simple but the banding has a delicate lace edging to it that matches the lace along the stockings. Pants are a soft satin, but in a deep red that mimics the dress near perfectly. The corset ties neatly in the back, but has secondary ribbons that lace across the front, purely for aesthetic. ]

I think these would look nice together.

[ As soon as he's declared so, she sets aside her brush and rises from her vanity stool to take a proper look. What he's picked has the redhead's brows raising. ]

Oh, I'm impressed, Will. You have an eye for detail, it seems!

[ Folding her hands atop one of his shoulders, she tilts her head to look up at him fondly. ]

I quite like it! Good job.

Are you just trying to appease me?

[ He side eyes her, but lets her settle there. ]

[ Carefully, she sets her chin atop them, eyes softening. ]

Truly, it goes together well. Do you see room for improvement?

I've already held each item up for comparison, so I don't see what else I could do.

[ Removing her hands from his shoulder. ]

If you would like some privacy, I can return when you're ready to fasten the corset.

Then you should be confident in your choice.

[ So, that has her pouting just a bit! But she recovers, shrugging the blanket off of her shoulders to drape over the footboard of her bed. ]

We've already bathed together; I think we're past that. [ A chuckle, as she glances back at him. ] But, if you'd like, you can return once you've partly dressed, yourself.

I was simply being respectful. But that would save us a slight bit of time.

[ With that, he gives her a nod and heads towards his own room. ]

Of course. You're a good man, Will.

[ She says to him as he goes, voice filled with more fondness than teasing! And upon his return, he'll find her dressed in all her undergarments sans the corset, using the full length mirror to ass the final touches in her lipstick.

When she steps back to inspect her handiwork, she gives herself a good look over and seems a bit perplexed concerning how she feels about it-- for she deeply dislikes the fact that the illusion is interrupted by the flat chest and masculine torso, but there's also something risque and not entirely ugly about it.

And then, spotting Will, she's a bit embarrassed to have been looking at herself at all! ]

Ah, you're quick!

Hm.

[ He's stood behind her, looking her over just as she'd done to herself. And when she notices him, he approaches. ]

I did do quite well, it seems.

[ He looks over each piece of the ensemble, nodding his head in approval. ]

You don't seem entirely convinced, however.

[ That only leaves the redhead's hand hovering over her face in some effort to conceal her blush. ]

No, that's not it. In fact, I was thinking that I especially like it, even despite lacking the proper form for the garments... That's saying something, I think.

[ She'll leave out the other bit, so as not to make him uncomfortable over the subject! ]

I had them take your chest into account when I commissioned the dress. Many woman have smaller breasts, so I don't think it will be an issue.

[ Giving her another look over, he fetches the corset from the bed. ]

What is important is that you feel confident in it.

[ Grell acknowledges the observation with a hum, smoothing her hands over her shoulders, along her chest.

But then, he's reminding her of her own words, to which she shoots him a lopsided little smile. ]

You're absolutely right. Perhaps more confident than I ever have.

[ While not really smiling, there's a softness to his eyes that rarely shows itself. ]

That's what I've wanted for you this entire time.

[ The corset is wrapped around her middle and he waits for her to position it properly before adjusting the ribbons. ]
