Technology in the reaper realm always advanced much quicker than in the mortal world. How that was possible wasn't made quite clear, but every employee would have to agree that it made the job far more tolerable and almost manageable. Before they knew it, fancy new machines were showing up in their cubicles and offices. Large ones that could transfer writing from one sheet to countless others. An extremely convenient electronic typewriter that made the organization of files far more streamlined. And now, their newest administered device which allowed them to communicate between departments and even branches without having to travel. They called it a 'cellular phone.'

( This shall be a catch all post for any random text exchanges between characters! )

[ He's heard her call his name more times than he could ever possibly count, but this one's hushed tone sends a shiver through him that none of the other shrill croons could. Her voice is needy, but with an overtone of joy, knowing that his affections are no longer a fruitless wish but a beautiful reality. His next kiss lingers a breath away, hoping to hear more whispered words from her. ]

[ Fortunately for him - in this instance - Grell can rarely shut up, and now that he isn't occupying her lips, that fact holds especially true. ]

Mn, don't stop, not now... [ Breathy and very nearly pouty, her hands rake through his hair as she nuzzles at him imploringly. ] I've starved for you all these years, my heart has just begun to feel full...

[ William shakes his head, lightly as he steadies the rocking of their bodies. ]

Honestly, I don't know what's come over me, but for once, I want to hear you speak.

[ Grell's certainly pouty, once he's shaking his head at her - and upon being stilled, sighs a needy sort of noise. ]

How could I ever resist such honeyed words. [ Tilting her head, she nuzzles along his ear, instead, voice nearly hushed against his ear. ] Tell me, what is it that you'd have me say?

[ There's a slight shudder at her whispers being so close to his ear. ]

I want to hear how I make you feel.

[ Grell hums, as though to consider his request, while placing a feather-light kiss against the shell of his ear. ]

Every time I see you, a warmth radiates through my chest.

[ Though quiet, her words are very precise, and the palms of her hands venture to his chest, splayed out to smooth across his pectorals. ]

And my heart flutters like a caged bird...

[ He's certain he must sound exceptionally egotistical, wanting to hear of her love for him. But knowing he's made someone feel good is calming, as if relieving him of his long lasting self doubt. ]

And now, in this unexpected moment?

[ It certainly might, but she seems amused enough by it. Perhaps he's expected a squealing mess, but thankfully, she was able to get some of that out of her system, back at the apartment! ]

Mm. As though this can't possibly be real...

[ Sitting back over his hips, her hands trail down his torso as she takes in the sight of him. ]

I've been so content to be in your presence and drink in all that you had to offer me-- but with every pause, time seemed much slower. Lonelier. [ The smallest sigh! ] Perhaps... it feels much like returning home from a long and quiet journey.

[ William hums, thinking over that final statement before nodding. ]

I believe I can understand, even relate, to that feeling.

[ He runs his own hands over hers before griping them firmly. ]

I have been lonely. Excruciatingly so, most days. But seeing you always seems to make me forget.

[ With a blink, her eyes widen just so - and they might even glisten, though her lashes are quick to flutter, resisting. ]

Really...

[ William's never been one to lie, and yet, the word falls from her lips without thinking! And here she is, grasping onto his hands with all the hope in the world, even so. ]

[ He can't help that slight furrow from reclaiming his brow. ]

Honestly, I'm not so cruel as to lie about such things. You should know that about me, well enough.

[ Leaning into his hold just so, she mirrors that look playfully. ]

Explain it to me so that I understand, then! It's refreshing to hear you express these sort of emotions, as I've never really known your perspective.

[ There's a bit of a huff, finally! ]

I only just realised this evening. It certainly explains why I continued to keep you around despite how aggravating you can be.

[ Lips parted, their edges pulled into the smallest smile, she draws a breath - though stopping herself short! ]

What did you realise?

How important you are to me. That I need you in order to have some form of grounding in this afterlife.

[ He looks down to where there hands are clasped tightly. ]

That under all the other emotions, you make me happy.

[ Raising those hands, she nuzzles one against her cheek, her lips pressing to the knuckles of his other.

She's absolutely smiling, genuinely happy, moreso than he's ever seen her. ]

I never would have known how much I've wanted to hear that...

[ Gosh, even her voice tremors!]

[ Again, seeing that genuine happiness has the slightest hint of a smile coming to his lips. ]

Perhaps I have been stubborn this entire time.

[ A joke?? or a realization. Who knows anymore! ]

[ Seeing that smile in person makes her feel as though her heart might just leap out her throat - and his words truly seal the surreal sort of vibe surrounding the entire scenario, but God, she loves it!

Forfeiting his hands, she cups his face instead, leaning in for a very enthusiastic kiss! ]

[ He accepts the kiss and all the joy that's fueling it. Arms wrap around her middle, and once the pause for breath, he carefully turns them to settle her down on her side. ]

The meeting should end fairly early. We should see the city afterwards. I've hardly been around.

[ Briefly, Grell wiggles about to get comfortable against the other reaper, hands rested against his chest, leg brushing along his thigh. Searching his features lovingly, she hums. ]

You never did know how to have fun without me. [ An amused breath! ] I would be delighted.

I can't argue that. I'd initially planned on simply returning home after all the meetings were said and done.

[ William runs his hand down her thigh before hoisting her leg up about his waist. ]

Perhaps a gondola ride through the city.

[untodeath]

[ That has the points of her teeth grazing along her bottom lip just so, fingertips gathering in the folds of his shirt. ]

Oh, Will. Yes.

[ A giggle! ]

Perhaps make a stop at the Ponte Vecchio~?

[ His fingers then trail down calf before pausing to massage at her foot. ]

Perhaps see Michelangelo's David.

[ That has her lashes drooping lazily over her eyes, drawing a slow and happy sigh. ]

Oh, goodness, the museums... the grand temples... So much we could do.

[ William nudges Grell's chin up to gain access to her neck. ]

We will have to see as much as we can. It will certainly be a long time before we can visit again.

[ He breathes his words against her skin. ]

Ah. You smell wonderful, whatever you're wearing.
