[ Flustered again, he pushes his glasses up and refocuses on his plate. ]

[ Ann covers her mouth with a snicker, looking to Grell. ]

You're right, it is a bit adorable when he does that.

[ Laughing, Grell grabs her hand! ]

Right? [ And then she's mimicking him, pushing up her own glasses with an exaggerated flustered huff, to which they both erupt in laughter again. ]

[ More than irritated, but taking it far more seriously than it should be, William takes up his plate and makes to move elsewhere in the dining hall. ]

[ Hearing him doing so, Ann peeks over at him-- and immediately slips her hands about his upper arm, urging him to stay put. ]

Oh, don't be like that! Lighten up, darling.

I didn't mean for it to hurt your feelings.

[ Grell all too easily slips free from her spot at the bench to slip her arms over his shoulders and give him the briefest of hugs! ]

Just a bit of fun, is all! We love it.

[ And she places a kiss upon the top of his damp locks! ]

[ William freezes as he's in quite the predicament now. While he wouldn't shove Angelina off of him, he'd have now qualms with doing so to Grell. However, the two of them clung to him, as well as the tray of food threatening to spill keeps him from moving much.

Oh, and did Grell just kiss him?? ]

Will you both let go of me. If you're trying to convince me to stay, this isn't working.

[ Grell huffs in the poutiest of ways! ]

Come now, Will. What's there to be upset about?

[spiderlilies]

[ Ann pats that arm with a shake of the head. ]

We're only trying to include you, you realise.

[death_glare]

That doesn't mean you have to latch on to me. At least respect my personal space.

[ He shimmies his shoulders in an attempt to get them to let go. ]

[ Ann blinks, but has no issue with letting him go, hand briefly raised with an agreeable smile. ]

Interesting. Why don't you care to be touched?

[ It's Grell that's more hesitant to let go, but with a quiet sniff, slips free of him to plop back down beside the lady, briefly leaning back against the table before she turns to resume her meal. ]

Never could quite understand it, myself, really.

[death_glare]

It's not something I'm used to.

[ His sigh is not as heavy this time as he relents and sits back down next to Ann. Though, 'next to' means about a foot of space between them! ]

You can at least have the decency to ask first.

[ Grell tilts her head, lips parted just so.

Wait, is William saying that he'd have let Grell touch him, if only she'd asked? Her mind is blown... ]

[spiderlilies]

[ Ann, however, isn't as convinced. She takes it into consideration, certainly, but she finds herself brushing fingertips beneath her chin while she hums in contemplation. ]

Doesn't that rather take away from the gesture? Passion of the moment and all.

[death_glare]

You were the ones being passionate about it. I had no say in the matter.

[ Resuming where he'd left off on his plate, he takes a good spoonful of mashed potatoes and gravy. If he can get at least half his meal down before completely exiting their presence, it will be a miracle. ]

So, what you mean to say is that you push hardest when others threaten to get closer to you.

[ She'll just resume her meal, too, picking up her beverage to take a sip. ]

That's not our fault.

[ And that's the first that Grell will have felt that she might not be the only one at fault for the rift between herself and William. ]

We'll just have to hold him to his word, won't we?

[ With a quirk of the brow, she manages a lopsided smile. ]

Do not try to make me feel bad for wanting my space. Honestly, I would think you'd prefer my affections to be genuine and not forced.

[ Okay, she's ready to move onto the sweeties, herself. This is all getting a little emotional! As in TRUE emotions. She settles back into her seat, reaching for dessert. ]

Of course we do, Will. That isn't a question.

[spiderlilies]

[ Ann chuckles at Grell, reaching for the plate to scoot it a bit closer for the other redhead. ]

But will you allow yourself to feel affection? Hm?

[death_glare]

[ He pauses, frowning to himself, this time. ]

It's not something I have any experience with. So it's not simple.

[ He takes a breath, exhaling slowly. ]

Perhaps I will try, though.

[untodeath]

[ Impressive. Grell looks to the two of them while distractedly spooning pudding into her mouth. Within a matter of minutes, Ann was able to get through to William in a way that she hadn't managed over a span of years. Part of her is a bit jealous, let down in herself; another, amazed. ]

[ Shooting William a smile, she nods. ]

That's quite good to hear. You owe it to yourself-- and your friends.

[death_glare]

Hm.

[ William looks as though he's thinking this over harder than he should need to, but in the end gives Ann a nod in return. ]

I told Grell this before, but I'll reiterate it. I will try to open up, but you need to have patience. I am not like the two of you in regards to emotions.
