[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

[ With a mildly unimpressed purse of her lips at the mere SUGGESTION that she should wear N outfit that doesn't have some form of red, she glances back at him. ]

If you purchase yourself some red, then I will allow you to pick a colour.

Fine.

[ The speed at which he agrees may be surprising. Or even that he agreed, at all! But he is slowly learning the art of teasing and flirting.

He briefly flicks through the waistcoats, spotting the perfect one near instantly. Now free from the rack, he drapes it over her arm, must as she's been doing to him. It's a lovely, bright and sunny yellow. No interesting pattern, plain buttons. It really lets the yellow speak for itself. ]

[ Stopping cold, her mouth parts with aghast as she stares the thing down, arm frozen as though she's been plagued with something dangerous and is unsure how to proceed. ]

[ The look she gives is actually quite amusing. Why not run with it. ]

Honestly, you wouldn't be wearing a waist coat on its own. We need to find a matching jacket and slacks to go along with it.

[ With a huff, she takes the garment by its hanger to hold out at arms length, as though rancid! ]

There is nothing that would make this even remotely acceptable for me!

Would you wear it simply to have me take it off of you?

[ Spotting a dress jacket that equally, if not even more so, hideous, he makes his way to the rack. ]

[ Grell frowns deeply, for she can't reject the idea with any certainty. ]

Perhaps, if you were to tear it off my body. [ She finds herself trailing along with some masochistic curiosity. ] And a few more times thereafter, for good measure!

My scythe would have aided in that quite nicely. Unfortunately that is no longer an option.

[ His way of saying the idea intrigues him, as well. He pulls the jacket from the rack, nodding briefly before hooking the hanger on her hand with the other piece. ]

[ The way she hums, it's clear that she's intrigued by the concept as well! Too bad the vision of this matching jacket must make her sneer in distaste! ]

Tragic, really.

[ Her shoulders rise and fall with a sigh. ]

You know, I've got much cuter options for you to cut up at home...

You'd hate to lose those, I'm sure.

[ Time for some matching pants! ]

[ Looking at the nearly-full ensemble now, she feigns a retching noise. ]

This is turning out to be a peculiar, and very expensive kink... Which, I must admit, makes me feel as though I should respect it more...

[ With a frown, he flips one of the price tags over in his hand. Ah, he'd forgotten just how expensive formal men's clothing could be. Even before tailoring. Good thing she brought it up, cause he's quickly replacing the pants on their rack. ]

Considering I'm more aroused by clothed sex, you may be correct.

[ Okay, she can't help but smirk a bit about her success. ]

What of my old uniform, mn? [ That smirk stretches into a grin! ] Now that I don't need it, I'd entertain the idea of giving it one last hoorah.

[ Turning, he looks her in the eyes, his expression as stern as ever. Then comes a brief glance down to the two offensive garments. ]

Put those back, then.

[ Breathing a sigh of relief, she turns on heel to do just that - but not without shooting him a hungry glance over her shoulder, teeth pressed into her lip and lashes batting. ]

[ She gets a good look up and down as she goes to obey his commands. But once she's turned back he's drawn his attention elsewhere. ]

What else, then? You wanted to get me more than dress attire, did you not?

Of course! You'll need neckties, perhaps some cuff links. A scarf?

[ Looking about, there's much to choose from! Which is when the idea strikes her... ]

Here, allow me to take those from you. [ She gestures to the garments he holds. ] I'll have them start a room for you. In the meanwhile, why not find a thing or two that speaks to you? Regardless of whether it should make sense!

[ Giving up the pile to her, he gives a good look over the rest of the store. Goodness where to start? Taking into account the garments they've already chosen, he moves along to the dress shirts. Some of the colours are a bit to bold, especially if their to be paired with jackets and waist coats of more substantial hues and patterns. But, there is one aspect of his dress shirt he doesn't mind changing - the collar.

Take that and add a pair of far more casual shoes and he's finding her back by the dressing rooms. ]

[ While William browsed, Grell had sneakily inserted some other things into his room that she thought would suit him, including a black shirt to go with that houndstooth blazer they'd found earlier, and a rich red tie! As promised, she found something for him in her favorite colour.

By the time he returns, she's chatting with one of the attendants, happily soaking in some praise for her own outfit-- but the giggles immediately cease upon seeing her beau, visibly brightening! She's lost interest in her conversation entirely, in favor of seeing what he's brought her. ]

Oh, now, that isn't what I expected... [ She cups a hand to her chin. ] It's understated, but I do like your attention to detail.

What were you expecting?

[ He asks as he walks directly between the two, paying no mind to the conversation they'd just been sharing. ]

This collar was always a bit uncomfortable, in my opinion. I thought I should start there, at least.

[ Oh, was that a display of disregard-- or possessiveness? She likes it.

Tongue darting over her lips, she pulls back the curtain to gesture him inside. ]

As though fashion is to be made comfortable. [ She chuckles. ] So long as we aren't matching yellow sequins with lavender trousers, I am pleased!

That was for an undercover assignment. [ As if he understands what undercover actually means. ] And I would rather not be reminded of it.

[ William sets the few pieces he'd grabbed down beside the others. Once the curtain is pulled shut, he sets about undoing the buttons to his shirt and pulling them free from his trousers. ]

Honestly, I don't see why it has to be uncomfortable. What did I retire for if I am going to make myself miserable wearing something as such?

[ By now, the employee has dismissed himself, but Grell hasn't really noticed one way or the other. She's too busy slipping through the closed curtain! It isn't as though he's naked yet. ]

It's about making a statement and looking one's best, you know? [ Quite nonchalantly, she sits herself down on the bench to watch, swinging one leg over the other. ] You need more confidence, and this is an excellent way to practice it! In any case, lounge wear exists for days in.

I thought you already found my confidence attractive.

[ He frowns at her reflection in the mirror, finally pulling the shirt down off his arms. It's tossed into her lap to keep hold of while he sees just what shirts she's added to the pile. The black one actually catches his attention as something he might like! ]

[ The redhead reflexively catches the garment, then chuckling in spite of herself. ]

I find everything about you attractive, my darling, especially your confidence in the confidence that I hold for you! [ There's a lopsided grin on her lips, because that sounds quite silly, but it's true. ] It's your confidence in yourself that's lacking.
