William dropped down from his horse. It had been a long ride - from London straight down to the southern coast of England. But he'd barely stopped, only doing so when his horse refused to go further without rest and water. But each time, William did little more than tap his foot anxiously, trying to focus on anything but his thoughts of what happened the day before.
But now that he'd arrived, there was nothing else to distract him. The horse was forgotten as he walked towards where the English Channel extended out to what seemed like eternity. With the thick fog of the early morning, there was no telling just what was out there. William's breath was shaky as his gaze then drifted down. Beachy Head, a beautiful site for some, with the tall cliff towering over the shore line below. But for him, this day, it was his enemy - or perhaps his closes friend. Whichever the case, he was terrified.

[ Most of his meal gone, William leans back more comfortably in his chair and focuses on his ale. ]

Of course you'd say as much, so not to see me fret. [ The fondness in her eyes might hint at her teasing. ]
no subject
[ He huffs briefly at her teasing and continues with his drink. ]
no subject
You truly are my rock.
no subject
[ He looks down to her plate, judging how much longer till she'll be finished, as well. ]
Seeing as the bank is closed tomorrow, I am free to stay up later tonight, if there was anything you wanted to do together.
no subject
Anyway, the news leaves her sitting up straight, face alight with excitement. ]
When would I ever pass up the opportunity to have your attention?
no subject
[ He thinks on his question, wondering what options they have for entertainment. ]
Regardless, I do think we should both take the opportunity to bathe tonight, so that is taken care of for tomorrow.
no subject
Mn, I do like the sound of that. Perhaps you could feed the fire while I put away the food, then we'll bring in the tub together?
no subject
no subject
Ready~?
[ And should he say yes, they'll drag in the tub together. Fetching the water buckets, she assists in filling the tub while it heats. Once it's finally set to warm properly, she heaves a happy sigh. ]
Would you like for me to put on music?
no subject
[ Despite still claiming to love her in a platonic way, William has grown more and more comfortable with Grell touching him. Whether a simple chin on his shoulder or snuggled up next to him on a particularly cold night, it's something he's finding great comfort in. Even now, he has little issue with removing his clothing to bathe beside her. ]
no subject
Any requests? Or would you prefer a surprise~?
[ She calls from the other room. At least she can play it off better than she used to! ]
no subject
[ Once she returns, he'll have settled himself into the water. ]
The temperature is near perfect.
no subject
Returning, she's all smiles upon hearing he's pleased with the setup. ]
How wonderful. Is there anything else you'd like? Some drink, perhaps?
[ Now she can look at him without seeming too forward, she very much appreciates the view. ]
no subject
[ There's a bit of time to relax, as the water is quite hot and the bathing portion really doesn't take all that long. ]
Are you joining me?
no subject
[ On her way to get their glasses ready, her gait falters just so, as she glances over her shoulder at him with surprise. ]
O-oh, I hadn't realised you'd meant... together... [ A breath to continue, for she shouldn't leave any room for refusal, or she'll be kicking herself later! ] I'll be right there, don't worry.
no subject
[ It's not a huge tub, but so long as they are find with their legs being against one another then it should be just fine. ]
no subject
[ Pouring their wine, she almost overfills one of the glasses while thinking into it all a bit too much. Everything that could go embarrassingly wrong-- after all, he's a very attractive man.
Returning with their drinks in hand, she offers him one while setting hers aside. ]
Would you mind if I also just-- undress here?
no subject
[ Though, he's courteous enough to keep his eyes focused elsewhere, less he make her nervous or uncomfortable. He notes his wine glass is filled far higher than usual, but it's shrugged off as he takes a decent sip. It's then that he notices the music she's put on and hums a bit of the tune quietly to himself. ]
no subject
So, what should I expect tomorrow, at this Christmas Eve party of yours?
no subject
[ As Grell finally readies herself for the bath, William will set his glass aside and position himself so she can settle her legs between his. ]
Dancing, as well. I believe there will be a quartet playing.
no subject
That sounds quite lovely, actually... Ah, I've always loved to watch dancing, in particular. The flair of it.
[ Closing her eyes, she can still enjoy the comfort of the water. It almost soothes her nerves! ]
no subject
[ Is this his subtle way of asking her to dance, or is he just curious? After all, William is hardly subtle in the things he does.
But once she seems settled in the tub, he retrieves his wine glass. ]
no subject
I admire, mostly, but-- when I can find the opportunity to partake, I do, yes.
[ Following suit in picking up her glass, she then sinks down into the water as far as she can without getting too friendly against William's legs! ]
no subject
[ There's no pulling back, so she must be in the clear, as far as bodily contact goes. ]
