Are you scared of being alone?

[ The question has him sounding rather concerned. He almost feels guilty he hadn't considered that possibility. ]

[ After a brief moment of consideration, she cants her head. ]

I'm afraid of the possibility that if something were to happen, we may not find one another again.

It was merely an idea to distract from any initial suspicion. Perhaps that doesn't matter much, since the next day will won't be there.

[ He hums thoughtfully. ]

If it worried you, then we can leave tomorrow.

I understand the thought behind it. Perhaps I'm being irrational.

[ With a frown, she shifts lower to nestle herself beneath his chin. ]

No. I understand your thoughts on it. I also feel a bit uneasy leaving you by yourself.

[ He rubs comfortingly at her lower back. ]

I'm more worried about leaving you with other people, I think.

[ Slinking her arms about his middle more snugly, she relaxes considerably. ]

I'm not sure I understand what you mean with that.

[ Despite the topic, William's glad Grell can relax. ]

I mean that people are so generally awful, and so, I think it's more dangerous to be around them than alone.

[ Slipping her hands beneath his shirt, she lightly rakes her nails over his skin. ]

[ The attention gets him to shiver, slightly. ]

Then tell me you would like to leave tomorrow. I will do so if that's what will make you most comfortable.

No, you're right... Going will give us more time to make our way out of here.

[ She mutters with a sigh, her palms smoothing over his back after. ]

Perhaps you can find reason to be dismissed early, though?

I will try.

[ His eyes shut, enjoying the feel of her hands along his back. ]

Anything to see you happy.

[ She presses a kiss to his neck, hands continuing to make slow work of his back. ]

Thank you, my love. Let's speak of it further in the morning, then.

[ With that, he's resting his head as comfortably as he can against the hard floor. Perhaps they should have taking a pillow or two, as well. And when morning does come, he'll find himself with quite a stiff neck. Stretching, he gives an uncomfortable groan. ]

[ Such causes Grell to stir, blinking awake slowly as she adjusts to the surroundings. She isn't inclined to move much, as it's become quite cold since the fire died out - but then one of their horses whinny, and as she jumps, she groans in protest at the ache in her muscles. ]

Ngh... Morning, darling.

[ As he sits up, he rubs his shoulder with a sour look on his face. He knew sleeping on the floor wouldn't do him well in the morning, but somehow he'd forgotten just how bad it could be. ]

We are finding a motel tonight. I won't be sleeping on this floor again.

[ Pulling herself up to sit, as well, she merely frowns deeply, lids drooping closed. ]

You won't have any protest from me. I feel as though I didn't sleep a wink.

[ Even so, she sluggishly crawls over to seat herself behind him, so that she may take his shoulders in her hands and knead at the weary muscle. ]

Though, I'm not the one going into work today, my poor darling.

[ The uncomfortable floor may have only been part of it. Despite his calmness about the situation, there's a layer of anxiety hidden beneath. ]

Do you intend to stay here while I'm at work?

[ Grell hums in thought, thumbs running firmly along the back of his shoulders. ]

I suppose I will. Stay with the cart and all.

[ William lets out a heavy breath at the massage. ]

I think that would be best. Perhaps I can use my poor night's sleep and aches as a reason to leave early. It wouldn't be entirely false.

[ Her smile is apparent in her tone - along with the pleased little hum that precedes it. ]

Ah, there you are. With how dutifully you show for work otherwise, I should hope they'll honour it.

[ And she'll punctuate the statement with a little kiss to the back if his neck! ]

I should hope so, as well.

[ With that kiss, he forces himself to get up and make himself as presentable as he can. Going on Grell's assessment of which, he bids her farewell with a kiss before cautiously leaving the warehouse for work. It's mid day when Grell will hear his horse whinnying outside, once more. ]

[ By some miracle, she's still there safely upon his return. In her boredom, however, she's gone through the miscellaneous storage that the warehouse held, and has found herself a sword, it seems! It sits in its sheath upon the seat of their cart, ready for use, should the need arise.

The cart itself has been neatly repacked, and rearranged, bedding tucked away and consumables within reach for the long travel ahead.

As for Grell, she was just about prepared to wield that new sword of hers, but upon seeing that its William that's returned, she leaps up from her makeshift seat amongst the hat in the back of the cart (which her horse seems to be munching) and just about bounds towards him. ]

You don't know how good it is to see you.

[ Face alight, she folds her arms over his leg fondly. ]

What happened? Are we clear?

[ The large weight that had been on his shoulders all day is finally removed when he sees her safe and sound. ]

We are fine. Seems he's yet to be noticed as missing. My father didn't seem bothered by his absence and I purposefully failed to bring it up. This may give us a better head start than I originally thought.

[ It's clear he's ready to get on their way and is pleasantly surprised to see Grell has packed up the cart while he was gone. ]

[ Gladness shows in the crease of her eyes upon hearing his news. Reaching up, as William sits atop his horse, she rests a hand against his chest. ]

And how are you faring?

[ William takes her hand, using it to steady himself as he dismounts. ]

Exhausted, but otherwise fine. Perhaps more-so then I should be.

[ He leads his horse towards where Grell's is grazing, letting it do the same. ]
