William dropped down from his horse. It had been a long ride - from London straight down to the southern coast of England. But he'd barely stopped, only doing so when his horse refused to go further without rest and water. But each time, William did little more than tap his foot anxiously, trying to focus on anything but his thoughts of what happened the day before.
But now that he'd arrived, there was nothing else to distract him. The horse was forgotten as he walked towards where the English Channel extended out to what seemed like eternity. With the thick fog of the early morning, there was no telling just what was out there. William's breath was shaky as his gaze then drifted down. Beachy Head, a beautiful site for some, with the tall cliff towering over the shore line below. But for him, this day, it was his enemy - or perhaps his closes friend. Whichever the case, he was terrified.

I'm here, aren't I?

[ He plucks Grell's glasses off the dresser and holds them out in front of her. A kind gesture despite his sudden grouchy mood. ]
no subject
[ Ah, but once her glasses are in view, her face lights up with a delighted breath! She reaches out to carefully pluck them from his hand. ]
You found them! Thank you!

A-ah...
[ Yep, she's blushing again. Why does this man make her do that so much? She glances away, tucking some hair behind her ear. ]
I don't think so. Nor is it always such a bad thing...
no subject
[ But her reaction plainly backs up her claims. He briefly finds himself charmed by that timidness reemerging and has to clear his throat to refocus himself. ]

Anything that dictates a strong will and sense of self is generally frowned upon, it seems... [ Frown. ] Socially acceptable behaviours are unrealistic and boring.
no subject
[ He can only assume he falls in that category for her. ]
no subject
I'm saying that you do the opposite, actually.
no subject
I never would have thought myself to be all that interesting or exciting.
no subject
You try to hide it, but you've got a lot of heart. You're also so serious that it makes you fairly oblivious, I think... [ An amused breath. ] But you also are quite thoughtful in ways that one would never expect. You're interesting, William, trust me.
no subject
You may be the only one who's told me as much.
no subject
[ She shakes her head. ]
I'll remind you as often as you need.
no subject
[ With a softened look, he drapes his clothes over an arm. ]
I'm going to wash up. Feel free to sleep more, if you need to.
no subject
No, I ought to get going, myself, if I'm to clear out my flat today...
no subject
Bring whatever you need.
[ William heads back into the main room of the house, and stringing up the privacy curtain Grell'd used the night before, begins his routine. ]
no subject
W-will...? I'm sorry to ask, but - ah - might I borrow a few things?
no subject
As far as what?
no subject
[ She cups a hand along her chin. ]
And a-- a razor, perhaps...
no subject
[ He gives a nod in the right direction. ]
no subject
[ Though, she'll stay just a second longer to admire his broad chest and strong shoulders. But willing herself with an audible inhale, she's off to fix herself up!
Perhaps fifteen minutes pass before she returns clean-shaven and hair tied low with her ribbon. ]
Thank you, again. I feel much better. [ Folding her hands awkwardly before her, she looks along the floor to keep herself from seeing too much. ] Would you like me to arrange your breakfast...
no subject
[ As she turns to look though what he has, he makes note of the red ribbon fastening her hair. It's not entirely not-masculine, but the colour choice is certainly loud and eye catching. ]
Perhaps choosing a more muted colour of ribbon would avoid you drawing negative attention.
no subject
That is, until he speaks up about her ribbon. Idly reaching up to touch it, she turns to look at him over her shoulder with the most confused frown. ]
What's wrong with red?
no subject
[ He's back down in the basin of the tub, rinsing the suds from himself. ]
It will cause people to look in your direction.
no subject
I suppose you're right... My hair already does that for me. Shouldn't give them any more reason to pay me any mind...
[ Setting out plates for the both of them, she goes about slicing the bread, placing one on each. ]
