[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

What, does the idea of the neighbours hearing your name from my lips-- embarrass you? Because...

[ Her voice got a bit breathy at the end there! Oh, and now it's becoming moreso, gradually rising in volume.She's also rolled onto her back, an arm draped over her head, as her other hand ventures down her torso. ]

I just-- can't help myself around you, William--! [ Yep, and that' her moaning his name quite loudly-- and immediately breaking into a cheeky grin. ]

[ Apparently it's too much of a bother to lean forward and smack her, so he'll opt for a hard kick to her side, instead. ]

You've made that decidedly clear through the years. I'd be surprised if the neighbors even batted and eye at the amount of noise you make.

[ Grell yelps, with a grasp to her side - which becomes her downfall, as she teeters just enough off the edge of the bed to send her tumbling! She grasps onto the bedding just a moment too late, leaving her bottom to hit the floor with a shout and a loud thud. ]

Alright... Point understood.

[ Not even bothering to lend her a hand at getting up, he sips at his wine, instead. ]

Good. Now I believe you need to ask me an original question.

[ Miraculously, Grell managed to keep her glass upright enough that just a bit of wine sloshed onto her hand. She's so unfazed, she's merely busied herself with licking her skin clean while crawling back to her spot on the bed. ]

Hmn. [ She casually pushes at one of his arms to make room, so that she may scoot up against his side. ] Alright then, tell me, what sort of life had you always dreamt of leading? No matter how unrealistic it may seem!

[ He shifts his drink to the opposite hand, lifting his arm enough that Grell can scoot up beside him. It repositions itself around her waist and settles on her hip. ]

Dreamt of? I believe you're giving me more credit than I deserve.

[ The redhead looks QUITE content as she cozies down, though her expression turns rather baffled soon enough. ]

You can't tell me that you never had any aspirations for yourself. You didn't want to have a certain sort of home? Live someplace special? Be something amazing when you grew up!

[death_glare]

I wanted to be stable. Be well enough off that I wouldn't have to worry about food or housing. [ There's a pause. ] Honestly, I never really thought about marriage or having a family until it happened.

[ There's a short sigh. ]

I'm aware that I'm not a very exciting or interesting person.

[ That self depreciation is showing itself again. ]

[ Grell looks positively mystified by this, lips partly agape. ]

Stop it. [ She pauses to furrow her brow, reaching out to swat his thigh. And now that she's done as much, she has more questions! ]

So, was it an arranged marriage then?

[death_glare]

[ He huffs at her reprimand. ]

No. But I wasn't out looking to fall in love.

[ With a short hum of amusement into her wine glass, she takes a sip. ]

Isn't that always the way. [ But she isn't giving up just yet. ] Was that really all, then? What about now?

[death_glare]

I suppose it is. [ He joins her in taking a sip, still thinking on the question. ]

I've already said I wouldn't mind picking up the violin again. So, that is one thing. Our trip to Germany was nice, all things considered. Perhaps seeing more of Europe.

[ Okay, that seems to satisfy her enough, earning a brightened smile. ]

I would love to travel with you... but perhaps that can be a bit of homework for you. Setting some goals. I'll have you reaching for the stars yet! [ She leans over to kiss his cheek! ]

That is quite the goal for yourself.

[ But the idea does sound nice. He'll have to work on it, but he's willing to try! ]

What can I say? I'm a dreamer. [ With a snerk, she nuzzles at his cheek with hers. ]

[ With a hum of agreement, William leans away from her intimate nuzzling to grab the comforter draped along the bottom half of the bed. Even with the wine he's found himself slightly cool - being fully nude probably doesn't help. He opens the blanket up, tucking it around their legs and up to their laps. ]

[ Grell reaches out to grab the open wine bottle to top their glasses off, before she snuggles down with her head atop his shoulder, nursing her cup. ]

Now, I always had a vision of having a cute little cottage just outside of the city, with a beautiful garden for my children to play in, and a cute fluffy dog to watch over them...

You're a dog person?

[ This surprises him substantially as he couldn't imaging Grell letting a dog jump on her and lick her face. The image of her freaking out over a puppy ruining her make up is actually rather amusing and he lifts his glass to hide any smirk that may try to show itself. ]

Why wouldn't I be? They're loving and faithful and wonderful... although, they rarely like me... [ Sadly, she deflates against him a bit with a pout. ]

Are you going to annoy me until I bring home a puppy?

[ Looking to him with widely innocent eyes, she blinks. ]

I hadn't thought to ask, but-- [ NOW THAT HE'S MENTIONED IT... ]

Raising a little bundle of love together would be a dream... [ Her voice becomes dreamy as her gaze drifts off, just envisioning it!! ]

[ William pinches at the bridge of his nose as he realizes just what he's done. ]

What? [ Mouth agape, she sits up to look back at him with great offence! ]

But you basically offered! You swell my heart with affection and then shatter it? Brute.

I wasn't offering. I was preparing myself for a potential headache from your nagging.

I'd also mentioned a house and children, you know.

[ FROWN. ]

It should be a big dog.
