[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

[ The redhead is a bit stunned as she falls against him, but she certainly doesn't fight it. Nearly nose-to-nose with him now, her eyes looks between his, a genuinely happy little smile plucking at her lips. ]

Thank you. For coming back for me. [ She glances away a bit shyly. ] I'm not sure that I've ever explicitly said it.

You've certainly implied it.

[ He gives her a soft kiss, the romantic mood paired with the warmth of her body and the water around him, putting him in perhaps the most relaxed state he's ever experienced. ]

[ Not only is it relaxing, it's genuinely tender. Grell's uncertain that she's experienced anything like it. It's enough to make her feel as though he's embraced her very soul. That she's finally safe.

Goodness, it's made her a bit misty-eyed, and she's closing her eyes tight to push it back as she wraps her arms about his shoulders, returning his kiss. ]

[ He catches that flicker of tears but waits until their kiss parts to comment. ]

You don't need to feel ashamed of crying.

I don't know what you're talking about.

[ Of course her voice has to waver and crack when saying so! Realising her cover had been blown before she'd even put the hat on, Grell huffs whilst looking off! ]

For future reference then.

[ But his tone tells her straight out that he knows she's full of it. ]

[ Peeking back at him, her lips purse into a pout, and after another moment of hesitation, she moves to rest her head against his, chin propped atop the arms she's folded about his shoulders. ]

It feels foreign, and I-- don't enjoy it much.

Even if they're tears of happiness?

[ Though, he can understand, in a way. Still, he's seen her in tears before and wants her to know there won't be any judgement from him over it. He slips his arms around her middle, holding her fast against him with a strong hug. ]

[ That hug somehow makes her more emotional than it does less! It hardly makes sense, but she's sniffling a fit while stubbornly pressing her face into her arm. ]

Something I'd never experienced before you. You really did break me!

[death_glare]

For the better, it seems.

[ Much like he had when she'd clung to him crying at his return, he now rubs her gently along her back. A comforting gesture he'd hardly shone anyone before now. ]

[ Okay, now the tears have begun to roll down her cheeks. It feels as though an immense pressure has been released, but it isn't like the first time. It's gentle, gradual, and warm. Thank God she isn't wailing, either. ]

You do make me better. [ Hic. ] In every way...

I feel the same of you.

[ Here's where his eyes close as he takes in the moment. It truly is odd how something most associated with sadness can also express joy. It's almost soothing to hear the quiet sobs against his shoulder. Perhaps just knowing that the tears he's caused this time are nothing for either of them to feel ashamed of. ]

[ Grell nuzzles into his neck as she attempts to calm herself, and though it takes longer than she should care for, her sobs do lessen to soft sniffles and tremors upon her breath. Pulling back just so, she wets her hands to clean them of suds, so that she might wipe them over her face instead - and she leans in, them, to take William's lips in a kiss, silently expressing her gratitude. ]

[ As they kiss, William's hand massage at her back, coaxing out any stray tears that were stubborn to fall. All of this romance, he's starting to enjoy it more than he'd ever expect to. What part of that is due to his angelic status now, he cannot say, but he has no desire to question it, either. ]

You've shown me so many other sides to you. I hope to see more.

[ Indeed, he does coax a few more rolling tears. Shaky breaths sneak in between the embraces of their lips, as her hands cup his cheeks dearly. When they finally part, she rests her forehead to his, eyes closed. ]

You're far more accepting than I ever would have imagined... [ She breathes a chuckle, at that. ]

Of some things.

[ Certainly not her causing trouble! ]

Though, I never showed much to anyone, so I suppose I can understand that.

[ She opens her eyes to peek up into his, smiling fondly. ]

Well. Neither did I, apparently. [ Her lids lower once more, only to briefly nuzzle at him. ] In any case, I understand... Somehow, I fall in love with you a little more every day, when I thought I couldn't possible have any more to give.

[death_glare]

I believe that's part of being in love.

[ His hands have reached the nape of her neck where he idly plays with the wet strands of hair that brush against her shoulders. ]

Mn. [ Nestled completely against him now, she breathes a relaxed sigh. ]

Yes, I suppose I've read of such things.

[ He's quiet for a spell, only giving an hum of acknowledgement to her last statement. The water is slowly losing its warmth, but he's still content to lay here, with her perched in his arms. It's so nice, in fact, that he feels he might slip back off to sleep if he isn't careful. ]

[ It is incredibly comfortable, and she can feel herself begin to drift as well-- which is precisely when she realises that it's time to draw their bath to an end! Pruned skin is NEVER cute. ]

Darling. [ Her voice is almost quiet and gentle - almost - as she pulls back to look at him, running a hand up through his hair and kissing his temple. ] Why don't we finish up here, mm? I'll wash you.

[ She says, reaching to grab one of the available washcloths to dip into the bathwater. ]

[ There's a sharp inhale as he rouses from the nap he'd fallen into. He blinks a few times, getting reacquainted with where he is. ]

Ah. Yes, that would be good.

[ It isn't long before she has him all neat and tidy, and coaxed him into doing the same for her. Once they've set the bath to drain, she drapes a towel over William's head playfully, before setting to drying herself off. Before he can worry about clothing, she takes his hand then, leading him back to bed without a word. Because a little nap really wouldn't hurt, at this point, right? ]

[ Of course, his first thought is that she's already dragging him over for another romp in the sack. He's about to argue that they should have done so before bathing, but then she's pulling him under the blankets and nuzzling against him affectionately. ]

And you were angry with me earlier for wanting to sleep later.

[untodeath]

You were the angry one.

[ She mutters against his lips, before taking them in a kiss. The blankets are still a bit warm, but it's the heat of his body that's so comforting. All she wishes to do is indulge in it further. ]
