William dropped down from his horse. It had been a long ride - from London straight down to the southern coast of England. But he'd barely stopped, only doing so when his horse refused to go further without rest and water. But each time, William did little more than tap his foot anxiously, trying to focus on anything but his thoughts of what happened the day before.

But now that he'd arrived, there was nothing else to distract him. The horse was forgotten as he walked towards where the English Channel extended out to what seemed like eternity. With the thick fog of the early morning, there was no telling just what was out there. William's breath was shaky as his gaze then drifted down. Beachy Head, a beautiful site for some, with the tall cliff towering over the shore line below. But for him, this day, it was his enemy - or perhaps his closes friend. Whichever the case, he was terrified.

We will see one another recite so many times, we will be able to close our eyes at any given moment and guess precisely how the other looks and moves.

[ Her caress follows the curve of his jaw until she comes to his mouth, her fingertips tracing its contour. ]

An inspiration then, instead.

[ His eyes drift shut at her description, focusing on the softness of her fingertip as they explore along his jaw. ]

Absolutely. Truly, all we could ever need we'll find in each other. Always.

[ And she'll lean in for another kiss, allowing him to feel her lips, instead. ]

[ He hums in agreement, only getting his words out between their soft kisses. ]

I am so grateful to have found you.

[ Words that earn a quiet, happy sigh. ]

As am I, Will. I've lived more in this past year than I have all my life prior. I'd do it again, if I had to.

[death_glare]

That shouldn't ever be the case. At least, I won't allow it to be.

[ They should be freezing, considering the cold night outside, but having her right next to him is enough warmth that he hardly notices the cold. ]

[ She smiles, shifting to lay down beside him, and finding his hand to hold. ]

I love you.

[death_glare]

I know. And I love you, as well.

[ He squeezes her hand, shifting to his side so he can see her properly. ]

[untodeath]

[ Her smile falters just so. ]

Thank you for continuing to stay by me, despite the mess I've gotten us into.

[death_glare]

[ He nods, eyes drifting to stare at nothing in particular in the background. He's silent for a bit. ]

How are you feeling? Mentally.

[untodeath]

[ His silence makes her uneasy. She hopes that he isn't thinking twice about it, now. ]

I can't stop thinking about it. But not for the reasons I should. [ Grell starts, quietly. ] I don't feel guilty for taking his life. The only regret I feel is how it's impacted ours.

[death_glare]

We have both been surprisingly calm about the situation. Which I am not sure is a good thing.

[ His brow furrows as he thinks back on the sight. ]

[untodeath]

[ Wearily watching his features, she seems a bit more optimistic when taking in his words. ]

You're faring well, then?

[death_glare]

I am rather indifferent about it. As if it were a normality in my life.

[untodeath]

[ That brings the greatest sigh of relief. ]

I'd thought that I would be to blame for years of night terrors to come.

[death_glare]

I am not saying it was a pleasant sight. I was rather fearful for you. But knowing that you are okay puts that fear to rest.

[untodeath]

[ Nodding, she reaches out to settle her free hand beneath his cheek. ]

I am.

[death_glare]

Good.

[ With that, he slinks his arms around her, pulling her into a warm embrace. The remaining blankets are curled around them, as well, before William gives her a gentle kiss. ]

[ What she doesn't tell him is that she is, perhaps, too okay with what's come to past. She's overcome her fear to fight back, and it made her feel-- otherworldly. It was intoxicating, the blood so beautiful ..

But being in William's presence, taking in his scent, it grounds her. She breathes another happy sigh being in his embrace, melting into her kiss with a croon. ]

[ Pulling back, just slightly, William gives a short yawn. ]

Pardon me. [ He apologises for yawning right in her face. ] I suppose that means we should get some sleep. Especially if I'm to attend work one last time tomorrow.

[ With a breathy little laugh, she kisses the corner of William's mouth as he continues on; wordlessly, saying it's fine. ]

Mn, of course... Though, I must admit, I'm not entirely fond of the idea, being apart right now.

[death_glare]

Are you scared of being alone?

[ The question has him sounding rather concerned. He almost feels guilty he hadn't considered that possibility. ]

[untodeath]

[ After a brief moment of consideration, she cants her head. ]

I'm afraid of the possibility that if something were to happen, we may not find one another again.

[death_glare]

It was merely an idea to distract from any initial suspicion. Perhaps that doesn't matter much, since the next day will won't be there.

[ He hums thoughtfully. ]

If it worried you, then we can leave tomorrow.

[untodeath]

I understand the thought behind it. Perhaps I'm being irrational.

[ With a frown, she shifts lower to nestle herself beneath his chin. ]
