It isn't as though I'm living with anyone else, now.

[ settling himself beneath the sheets, he makes sure she has enough space. It isn't a very large bed, but they should manage. It wasn't often William and his wife got cozy with one another, so it is possible. ]

I promised I wouldn't abandon you. And I won't.

[ Crawling in after him, she also takes care to put space between them, placing herself as close to the edge as she can manage. ]

I don't doubt you. What I mean to say, is that I wouldn't confirm such a thing, knowing it would carry with you.

[ Now that her body has stilled, she's able to relax somewhat, and the fatigue really starts to grasp at her. The bed feels wonderful. ]

[ William's positioned himself to face her, and with a slight movement of his arm, he's taking her hand, as she'd done to him earlier. He rests them both on the pillow between them. ]

Then take it as this. I don't want either of us to return to that state of mind. So, if you're feeling like you truly might, I want you to tell me so that I can help you back.

[ Quite suddenly, her face becomes warm, and she can feel the tinge of tears threatening to well. Her eyes refocus, from their hands to his face, and she curls her fingers into his. ]

Alright. I will.

Good.

[ He can see the slight glisten to her eyes and squeezes her hand reassuringly. ]

Things will be better from now on. For both of us.

[ With a sniff, she wills the tears away-- smiling, even. ]

I might dare to say that they already are.

This is true.

[ He isn't smiling, but his face is so calm and content, one could argue that it's just as good. ]

[ A huff of a laugh escapes her, as she briefly closes her eyes to take in the sense of love from this man she just met this morning. ]

I may even look forward to tomorrow.

Honestly, I hope I can do that for you.

[ Part of him worries if he's fallen into trusting someone again, too quickly. Especially since he barely knows this person at all. But the desire to keep her safe is almost overwhelming. ]

[ Grell opens her eyes to peer into his once more. She, too, is overwhelmed; he's making her feel like no one ever has, and she knows that he can't feel the same - nor does she feel that she should feel such a way, in the first place! It's unwise, perhaps even foolish... but, God, does she want him, in this moment. She's in trouble. ]

[ Unfortunately for Grell, William isn't quite thinking in the same mind set as her. But, he keeps her hand in his, even inching slightly closer to make sure the blanket covers her well enough, before he allows his eyes to fall shut. ]

[ For now, she's content with scooting just the slightest bit closer, as well, away from the bed's edge! She softly threads her fingers into his, breathing a relaxed and content sigh while her eyes flutter to close. ]

[ It's one of the best night's sleep he's had in some time. And once the sun's up, he almost wishes he could stay in that spot and not venture into work. With a long yawn, he releases Grell's hand, stretching. ]

[ The shifting stirs her, in turn. With a long inhale, she rubs at an eye, both of which refuse to open just yet. When they do, she has to take in her surroundings all over again. The room is still unfamiliar to her, especially now, in the daylight. If not for feeling his hand moving from hers, she might've been alarmed, not recalling the previous day immediately. ]

'Morning... [ She near mumbles, voice airy. ]

Hm. Good morning.

[ Though he doesn't sounds particularly happy to be awake. Perhaps he can lay here a bit longer. ]

[ Perhaps she can blame it on her tired brain, but she will meekly scoot her way closer to sling her arm over his waist, and tuck her face against his side, shielding her from the morning light. A quiet protest! ]

[ William pauses, mid stretch. His wife hadn't been one to snuggle, probably out of her false feelings for him. But, William had never been forward with his affection to her, either. So this new person in his bed cozying up to him throws him off guard. Especially considering how timid she'd been the previous day. ]

I will need to get up, you realise.

[ No sense pushing her off and subsequently scaring her away. ]

You shall... [ The readhead's words are muffled, before she turns her head just so to peek up at him. ] But not this very second, I hope.

[ He frowns down at her. Perhaps it was his own fault for being fairly intimate last night- at least by his standards- holding her hand and tucking her in close. But he doesn't want her getting the idea that they are suddenly in a romantic relationship. He has a feeling saying as much will trigger bed memories or the like. ]

No, but you need to lay beside me, not practically on me.

[ Though he may not say it, her innate weariness has her fearing as much. Cheeks reddening, she pulls back, arms gathering her pillow. ]

Sorry.

You don't need to apologise.

[ He says it in a calm tone, so she knows he isn't mad. ]

[ Briefly glancing up at him, he certainly doesn't appear mad, either, but she still find her gaze darting away with embarrassment. ]

But I should. That was uncalled for.

[ Idly rubbing a sleeve over her face, she realizes that she needs her glasses. Rolling over, she reaches out to the side table to pat around for them. She's forgotten that she left them on the vanity the previous night, when dressing. ]

Do they keep you during the typical business hours?

Sometimes a bit longer. I'm being taught all the workings of the business, most of which I insist I know by this point. But, my father is rather stubborn, as is his partner.

[ Since she's moved, he takes the opportunity to rise from the bed and move to pick through his more professional garments. ]

[ As she cannot find them, she merely sits herself up in bed with a bleary-eyed frown. ]

So, I see, that is where you must get it from. [ She yawns into the crook of her arm. ]

[ He immediately looks back to her with a frown. ]

I am not nearly as stubborn as he is.
