[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

[ This particular kiss feels like something of a reward. He's clearly pleased by her response, and knowing that she's evokes just a reaction from him is certainly just that-- especially when she's so skilled at proving the adverse!

Grell breathes deeply through her nostrils, relishing in the tender touches, and craning into his kiss in full. Once their lips have parted, a chuckle rolls beneath her breath. ]

I think that would work quite nicely.

[ Hearing him call it that has her hands winding into his lapels a bit tighter! And it's an idea that makes sense, knowing they'll feel more vulnerable around one another then. ]

Pour us some wine. I'll see to finishing up the side dishes while the meat cooks.

[ And he allows her to pull away on her own, refraining from shoving her towards the kitchen table to follow his instructions. ]

[ She leans in for one last peck before doing just that.

Once the bottle has been uncorked, she croons happily while proceeding to pour their glasses - which William will discover are nearly filled to the brim.

With a playful grin, she leans back against the counter, as she holds out his for him to take. ]

Prepare to be-- mildly impressed.

That doesn't boast well for the product.

[ He gives it a skeptical look, but takes a sip, regardless. There's the slightest raise of his brows and he lightly licks his lips afterwards. ]

It is certainly sweet. You weren't lying about that any.

[ Grell chuckles into her glass whilst taking a healthy sip, herself! Humming, she nods, licking over her lips as her shoulders rise! ]

Not unlike a juice-- only better, obviously!!

[ There's a short nod of agreement before he's taking another larger sip, himself! ]

[ One more, herself, and she's slipping away from the counter. There's a shift of her feet, so that she turns as though on a dance floor, free hand slipping about William's waist so that she might step in close, pressed into his back, and kiss the side of his neck! ]

[ Even if she's behind him, he's still managing to give her a suspicious side-eye. ]

[ Since the wine is now playing a role in their game, he pauses in drinking any more. Instead, it's placed on the counter top, and he turns his attention back to the stove top, stirring some butter into the mashed potatoes. ]

[ Grell looks quite pleased, as she sets her chin on his shoulder. ]

Alright then, we'll start easy... How many times have you been in love?

Romantically? Twice.

[ The answer is immediate, proving there's few relationships in his past. ]

[ That brings a smile to her face, though. Genuinely pleased. Nuzzling into his neck, she hums. ]

I imagine it's safe to assume the other was-- your late wife? [ Though that's slightly difficult to say, she discovers. ]

[ He's honestly surprised there isn't more jealousy to those words. ]

[ This is Grell attempting be be mature, but it certainly is bubbling under the surface of her awkwardness. She's mentally reminding herself that she'd been the one to ask, the one to say those words-- ]

Mn... Your turn~! [ She chirps with more forced enthusiasm! Time to move on!! ]

[ Ah, but there she is moving on from the topic so quickly. ]

Grin turning lopsided, she chuckles. ]

I suppose we could do that, answering our own questions-- but you'll have to think of another, you cheater. [ Chuckling, she flicks at his earlobe with her tongue! ]

Mn, let's see... [ Ah. Looks like she'll need to fill that pause with a sip of her wine. ] I've-- loved three times. Once returned, now.

[ His shoulders rise protectively as she plays with his earlobe. ]

Are you willing to tell me the third?

[ He'll be polite and ask, as he knows it can be a sensitive subject. But, just as she'd done, William's assuming the second to be her partner in crime. Literally. ]

[ And he would be absolutely correct, which is why Grell nods along without rebuke. ]

Mn. His name was Oliver. [ She pauses to drink, but it's for her sake, this time! ]

Ah, a man whose charm and looks were only paralleled by his talent for acting! [ A sarcastic sigh, as her gaze drifts wayward. ] He'd told me that I was unmemorable, that I would die a nobody, and he could never love someone as insignificant as me! But he saw to it that he took my virginity first, of course.

[ His brows knit together almost immediately. ]

Unmemorable? Honestly, that has to be the single most idiotic description I've heard for you. The man must have been truly full of himself to believe that.

[ Warmth touches her features as she kisses his neck, then resting her cheek on his shoulder. ]

The thing is, he was right. I was different then.

[ Because he can't even begin to imagine Grell being anything other than loud, dramatic and intimidating (to others, that is!). ]

[ Her fingers idly trace up and down his stomach, along the button fly of his dress shirt. ]

I--... was repressed, I suppose. Unsociable, quiet, afraid. Weak. Pathetic.

[ His eyes may be focused on the pan - slowly stirring flour into the gravy he's preparing, but they occasionally slip down to where her hands play along his middle. ]

[ It's odd to think she was so different, but it makes sense when you consider just how closed minded things were in the time period they came from. He supposes that's one positive thing about the reaper realm.
