William dropped down from his horse. It had been a long ride - from London straight down to the southern coast of England. But he'd barely stopped, only doing so when his horse refused to go further without rest and water. But each time, William did little more than tap his foot anxiously, trying to focus on anything but his thoughts of what happened the day before.
But now that he'd arrived, there was nothing else to distract him. The horse was forgotten as he walked towards where the English Channel extended out to what seemed like eternity. With the thick fog of the early morning, there was no telling just what was out there. William's breath was shaky as his gaze then drifted down. Beachy Head, a beautiful site for some, with the tall cliff towering over the shore line below. But for him, this day, it was his enemy - or perhaps his closes friend. Whichever the case, he was terrified.

[ Though it may not be what the other intended for, Grell takes up the gown to go do just that! ]

The torso is a tad snug where a women's corset should be, the shoulders pull awkwardly at the empty bust, and the hemline several inches too short; however, all considered, she feels beautiful.
Before she makes her debut, however, she towel dried her hair quite thoroughly to keep the gown from getting wet - and requires quite a bit of finger combing thereafter, but once she's managed to get it under control, she heaves a sigh and looks herself over in the mirror once more. Best to remove the glasses for a better effect.
Returning, she clears her throat a touch timidly, hands folded at the middle to his the lack of shape. ]
It's still rather obvious, isn't it...
no subject
Yes. But, I think we can work with it.
[ It's odd seeing this young man, that he's just only met, suddenly standing there in his wife's dress, but the warm look on his face tells William that he did the right thing in rescuing Grell. ]

Thank you.
no subject
Perhaps a bit of rouge, and something done with your hair.

A corset is a must. A high neckline, as well... [ A bit breathy following her drink! ]

[ Seeing how hungry she really is, he stands to see what else he can find. Unfortunately, his wife had done the cooking, so he'd been reduced to simple foods since she was now absent. He's huffs at the lack of variety, but finds a few boiled eggs still fresh in the small iced box in the corner of the room. That was easy enough to make, thankfully. ]
no subject
Yes... I suppose a two-piece ensemble can be shifted around somewhat, but my voice...
[ Her eyes curiously follow William, but once he's gone, she takes the opportunity to take an big, undignified bite out of an oversized slice. ]
no subject
[ He catches that bite, but doesn't see it as anything to comment on. Placing the peeled eggs and some pepper before her, he takes a seat, once more. ]
no subject
Seeing that he's noted how hungry she is, it's a tad embarrassing, but also, quite sweet... her eyes meet his with gratitude. ]
Thank you... [ She finally manages, voice small. She shyly reaches for an egg to pull back to her plate. ]
I suppose I do. A-a bit.
no subject
Honestly, you don"t need to act so timid around me.
no subject
I-- don't mean to be. [ she briefly folds her hands around one another. ] You've been nothing but good to me, and I do take that to heart... I just...
no subject
Just what?
no subject
I-I'm nervous around people, in general, I suppose.
[ What she won't mention is her deep-rooted trust issues, and that William also happens to be a very strong man that she barely knows. ]
no subject
I wouldn't say I get nervous around others, but I certainly wouldn't claim to be the best with social interaction. So I suppose I can understand that much.
no subject
Once we become more comfortable, you know... it will be easier, I'm sure.
no subject
[ It may be hard to detect, but there's hope in his voice that she really is looking to. ]
no subject
Why else would I allow you to bring me back to this place?
no subject
[ A frown comes to his brow, as he thinks of something. ]
Perhaps I'm nervous, opening up to someone again.
no subject
You already have. I wouldn't be here, otherwise.
no subject
[ It's a hum of understanding and agreement. ]
No abandonment and no deception.
no subject
No abandonment. No deception.
no subject
I also want you to tell me if anyone mistreats you.
no subject
Really? But, what for? What would you do?
