[ While she isn't entirely sure what to make of that response, she finds herself searching the page for what perplexes him so much. Quietly turning the pen between her fingers, for just that moment. ]
I certainly can be specific. Or we could work on it together.
[ Grell draws a breath, prepared to protest-- but, wait, would that mean that he'd have to beat out Ann? Is she supposed to feel this torn? What's more, he did manage to get a rise out of her with that, and now she's flustered, crossing her arms over her chest!! ]
What does that have to do with anything?!
[ Sensing Snape's eyes snap to her, her shoulders tense up. ]
--there must be a simpler ratio we could use!! [ Nailed it. ]
[ The redhead's yelp particularly leaves students snickering under their breath, so it's a fortunate thing indeed that the instructor has been appeased!
Between William's assertiveness and the prospect of playing against both Angelina AND William at once, her cheeks have tinted a notable shade of rose! ]
Well, we'd have to see about that. I do love a challenge♥...
[ Leaning in closer, it seems that she's temporarily lost sight of the original topic. ]
[ He rereads a line from their potion text and sets about finally getting their concoction started. Hopefully he will leave this class without Grell exploding the contents of their cauldron. ]
[ With a pout, she picks up one of the unused bottles to observe. ]
You're the one that insisted on bringing it up. [ Wait. Her brow knits, as she stares off into nothing for a split moment. ] Why did you bring it up? [ With a gasp, she looks to him with shock! ] Were you-- flirting with me?
[ Irritated, he focuses on mixing in the next few ingredients. But, the situation has apparently thrown him off a bit as the cauldron suddenly overflows! ]
EH... what did you put in here when I wasn't watching?
[ Cause obviously it was her. Getting his want out, William's at least able to stop the flow of green ooze from ruining their potion books. ]
[ At the accusation, Grell's mouth gapes-- but she bursts into a giggle, pulling her books away, just in case!! It's unbelievable, she doesn't think she's ever seen him so flustered. What IS going on, truly? ]
I believe I should be concerned! Are you going to be alright, darling?
Stop calling me that. I am not your darling anything.
[ Of course the ruckus causes Snape to slink over, the most unimpressed look on his face. Well aware that his own house student won't be phased by loss of house points, he decides to give them both detention. As well as minus points from Gryffindor due to Grell being a bad influence over William. ]
[ The following Saturday, when they would normally be enjoying sleeping in, or perhaps heading over to Hogsmeade, William and Grell find themselves in the Owlry, their task being to clean and feed the student's owls. William's bad mood over the situation had lightened slightly when he found out what they were assigned to do, but ultimately he'd been hoping they'd separate them.
Once there, William doesn't hesitate to grab the tools he needs for the job. He finds himself here often enough of his own free will that the keeper for the owls leaves them to it, trusting William's knowledge of the coop. ]
You will want to put on gloves and an apron.
[ William instructs as he dresses himself in them. ]
[ The dread is already evident on Grell's features, shoulders slumped and frown deep set! With a groan, she settles for the gloves first, since even the aprons look dirty! ]
I can't believe they're making me clean, of all things. [ Eyes on the ground as she ties her apron behind her back, she gives a sobbing whine! ] Can one even get this place clean?!
[ Since Grell's being tolerable at the moment, William decides to introduce her to his own owl. It excitedly hops out of its cage onto William's shoulder when he opens the door. ]
[ Even Grell seems surprised that he's opening up, even if in such a small way. Inching closer, she extends a hand - almost timidly - and if Gregory doesn't seem like he'll nip at her, she'll run a knuckle down his chest. ]
Hello, Gregory... I hear you're a very good hunter. I do think that's remarkable.

I certainly can be specific. Or we could work on it together.
no subject
And by that I assume you mean that I will be doing the work while you attempt to distract me, as usual.
no subject
My focus has shifted these days, as it were. You won't have to worry about that.
no subject
[ There's a hint of skepticism to that hum. ]
I suppose I won't try out for Quidditch next year, then.
no subject
What does that have to do with anything?!
[ Sensing Snape's eyes snap to her, her shoulders tense up. ]
--there must be a simpler ratio we could use!! [ Nailed it. ]
no subject
Keep your voice down.
[ Pleased with William's use of force to reprimand that Gryfindor, Snape turns his attention away, once more. ]
That, or perhaps I can claim the second beater position. Slytherin would be certain to win the Quidditch Cup with both Angelina and myself playing.
no subject
Between William's assertiveness and the prospect of playing against both Angelina AND William at once, her cheeks have tinted a notable shade of rose! ]
Well, we'd have to see about that. I do love a challenge♥...
[ Leaning in closer, it seems that she's temporarily lost sight of the original topic. ]
Are you really going to do it?
no subject

no subject
[ The denial is stated quickly and with an adjustment to his glasses. ]
You are in a relationship. [ Wait, he should clarify more. ] And, I wouldn't do so otherwise.
no subject
Meaning you wouldn't do so if I wasn't in a relationship? Will, I never knew you were so scandalous.
no subject
That is not what I meant, and you know that.
no subject
[ So she says, feigning innocence with a bat of the lashes! ]
no subject
EH... what did you put in here when I wasn't watching?
[ Cause obviously it was her. Getting his want out, William's at least able to stop the flow of green ooze from ruining their potion books. ]

no subject
Nnnoooo... [ Slumping down to the desk, her small voice is muffled, cheek squished against her book. ] I hate detention.....
no subject

[ He holds out a broom to her. ]
Tie your hair back. The owls will want to bite at it.
no subject
And you actually like doing this?
no subject
[ Apparently the bird hooing and chirping doesn't bother him. ]
It isn't that bad, so start sweeping.
no subject
I mean. They're a bit cute. I just wish they weren't so messy.
no subject
[ Since Grell's being tolerable at the moment, William decides to introduce her to his own owl. It excitedly hops out of its cage onto William's shoulder when he opens the door. ]
This is mine. His name is Gregory.
