I'm accusing you of having ulterior motives. Or added expectations of me.
[ He glares at Ann a moment longer before huffing and taking a sip of his juice. At least they aren't poisoning his drink to get him to say yes. Still, he can't deny their claim that he'd just be moping silently by himself the whole night. Now he just needs to decide which of the two options is less appealing. ]
Mind your distance the remainder of the night and I'll see you through the door.
[ Having been enjoying the energy from that glare, herself (because she knew she was right), she's almost a bit disappointed that it's subsisted! She giggles. ]
Oh, I see. Yes, we certainly expected more than that. You ought to be spending the entire night with us.
[ Ann hums, cutting in before William can necessarily say no outright. ]
Of course, I find that arrangement to be acceptable. Though-- [ Likewise, she turns to lean against the table, infringing on his personal space. ] --that isn't necessarily set in stone, I hope. I'd hate to see you limiting your possibilities.
[ Tilting her head to get a better glance of what he's doing to Grell, she quirks her brow. It isn't as though she's mad about it, though - the other can be a bit much, and she's done similar on a few occasions. And enjoys taking abuse, besides. ]
[ Grell, however, seems more hesitant to leave, content on the idea of spending the remainder of breakfast there-- but, obediently, she stands with a sigh.
She takes Ann's hand-- but, oh! First, she must lean over to add-- ]
We can discuss your outfit in Potions. I hear Snape will have us choosing partners today.
[ Splendid, he thinks to himself, holding off the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose in exasperation. ]
Leave.
[ And he gives the couple a final stern look.
William almost considers nodding out of Potions class for the day. But surely Snape wouldn't believe any excuse he gave him, if William ever was the type to fib. In fact, if he told him the truth, Snape would be sure to purposefully pair them together and give them something they'd fail at. So he sits stoically at his desk, just bracing himself for the next hour ahead of him. ]
[ When the time inevitably comes, Grell merrily picks up her belongings, and marches over to drop them onto the desk beside William. Certainly, she can sense his discontent-- but that's a constant with him, so it seems like nothing out of the ordinary. ]
[ Settling herself down while humming, Grell sorts out her things as she likes them, propping open her book and notes. Even she knows that she'll have to multitask or face the wrath of the potions instructor. Not always a bad thing, mind - just not on the agenda today. ]
[ He can only assume she's bringing up the attire conversation already. He'll go with that notion, opting to steer away from the potential arguments and save himself a bit of sanity for the remainder of the day. ]
[ Grell looks at him, as though waiting for him to continue-- and upon realising that is, indeed, all he has to say on the matter, furrows her brow with concern. ]
Right... But there are many stylistic choices to consider-- and you'll need to match Ann and I, of course.
[ Her mind is already getting swept away with all the possibilities! ]
I wouldn't expect you to wear all red, that simply doesn't suit your personal style. We could, however, give you a nice waistcoat patterned with hints of red, to tie in the boutonniere...
[ The compliance is so unexpected, Grell just lights up with a smile! ]
Wonderful. [ Grell picks up her pen to jot the idea down - particularly to look as though she's working on the assignment with him. ] Mn, now, the more subtle details will really bring the look together... [ She taps the end of her pen to her lips briefly. ] I can see you with a flat black jacket, a tin notched lapels... Black or gold buttons! Oh, and a cutaway collar would be fun-- with a flat black bow tie....
[ The last of that response has William looking at his notebook with a furrow to his brow. They haven't really talked about anything personal, despite being around each other so often. He's not surprised to hear that Grell's relationship with her dad isn't all that great. ]
I can do the charms myself, but you have to give me specifics so I don't mess them up, myself.
[ While she isn't entirely sure what to make of that response, she finds herself searching the page for what perplexes him so much. Quietly turning the pen between her fingers, for just that moment. ]
I certainly can be specific. Or we could work on it together.

Neither of us can force anything on you, of course - but we can very well encourage it. As concerned bystanders.

And, what, you'll sit by yourself in a dark corner, munching on sweeties, instead?
[ Sitting upright, she shakes her head. ]
Certainly not.
no subject
Oh, I see. Yes, we certainly expected more than that. You ought to be spending the entire night with us.
no subject
I meant to keep your hands to yourselves.
no subject
So, before that is-- free reign, then?
no subject
Of course, I find that arrangement to be acceptable. Though-- [ Likewise, she turns to lean against the table, infringing on his personal space. ] --that isn't necessarily set in stone, I hope. I'd hate to see you limiting your possibilities.

Possibilities being what, exactly?
[ Should he worry that his mind automatically goes to that potential end of the spectrum? ]
no subject

Ultimately, I believe it's up to you.
no subject
What's the worst that can happen? [ After a good huff, she collects herself with a grin! ]
no subject
[ He pulls his hand back with a huff. ]
I already agreed. I think I deserve to eat the remainder of my breakfast in peace, now.
no subject
[ Ann is content on picking herself up without another another word, climbing over the bench before extending a hand to Grell! ]

Hiii~♥

[ It's not said with any enthusiasm. Just a formality and to keep her from whining that he's ignoring her. ]
no subject
Now, then, what did you have in mind, mmm?

Are you going to be buying me an entirely new outfit? Because I won't have you putting any charms on my only suit and ruining it.
no subject
I suppose I could. It isn't as though my father would notice, anyway.
no subject
I can do the charms myself, but you have to give me specifics so I don't mess them up, myself.
