Forgiven

[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

Seems that warning label wasn't necessary, as they contacted me without one.

[ He shakes his head. ]

[ Laughter drawling into a chuckle, she sets about preparing her second lash to attach. ]

Quite true. I suppose we've already got a reputation about us, don't we?

I'm not certain if that's good or bad.

[ They've certainly been the hot gossip around the office the past few days. ]

[ Humming in thought, she leans in close to the mirror once more, to place the falsie-- and take another moment to look herself over before applying a bit of gloss. ]

Well, it certainly eliminates the need for address. [ She's up to fetch her glasses now-- and drapes herself across his lap while she reaches to the bedside time and puts them on. ] And hearing the ridiculous claims that circulate back can be a good laugh, too.

[ Though he's used to her grabbing at any chance he gives her, he still scrunches his brow up at her draping herself over him. At least he isn't pushing her to the floor, though. ]

The lot of them need to mind their own business, in my opinion.

[ Pushing herself up, she hums all too contently while cupping a hand to his cheek, leaning in to peck his lips. ]

Were it me, I'd be curious, too. You have to admit, we've had quite some drama, as of late.

[death_glare]

[ He waits until she breaks from the kiss to retort. ]

There's always drama when you're involved.

[ She chuckles.]

Then that's truly saying something, isn't it?

[ Swinging herself up, she finally heads for her closet to put on something! ]

Yes. Compared to everything previous, this time stands out among the rest.

[ He watches her dress, only looking away briefly to check the time on his watch. ]

[ As the day before, she chooses something more to her taste than company standards, seeing as it will be covered, anyway-- an outfit that she can dress up with a simple jacket, removable and easily stored. ]

Certainly something to tell the kids, later on.

[ She glances back to give him a wink, before taming her hair with a bit of product. ]

[death_glare]

[ He gives her a scolding look at her comment. ]

Stop it.

[ She steps back to look herself over in the mirror, fingers refining the ends of her hair. ]

What~? You can't keep a girl from dreaming.

[death_glare]

I think enough of your dreams have come true these past few days.

[ A dry comment as he stands from the bed. Assuming she's done and ready he exits the room, grabbing whatever final things he needs. ]

[ Grell curiously watches after him, turning to follow as he goes! ]

You are always a dream, my love. [ She chuckles, rubbing a hand along the small of his back as she passes, searching for her keys. ] But you knew what you were signing up for!

[ Once finding them, she's in the process of putting them in her coat pocket when she stops short. ]

Unless you've thought I wasn't serious, all this time.

[death_glare]

I'd be rather peeved if this were all some elaborate joke.

[ He grabs her shoulder, twirling her around to continue moving. ]

However, you prize love and romance far too much to make light of it. Now, if I'd known that when we first met, perhaps I wouldn't have struck back.

[ With a roll of the eyes, Grell resists almost like a child herself, at first, pushed along with heavy steps! ]

Well, thank you for your ignorance. We'd both be quite listless and distraught otherwise.

[ Moving herself out the door, she waits for him to follow before locking up, then holding up the keys to dangle before William, so that he may take them! ]

[ He takes the keys with a firm grip, moving them to the inner pocket of his coat. ]

Before now, I never would have believed you were capable of being listless.

Good, I like hearing that I put on a decent show.

[ She steps closer, hands setting on his hips. ]

To the cafeteria, then? Grab something to go?

[death_glare]

We've both been rather good at holding in our true emotions, haven't we?

[ Grell's hands are removed from his waist, but he keeps hold of them as he teleports them to the cafeteria. Letting go, he approaches the counter, reading the offerings for the day. ]

You should get something small and eat it on your way to the janitorial office. We wasted quite a bit of time getting here.

[untodeath]

[ Grell's eyes stay on his, even as he releases her hands-- positively lovestruck. Even taking that small gesture to the public, however brief, has her heart fluttering like mad. ]

Mn, that's the plan♥. [ She joins his side, knuckles brushing the underside of her chin as she looks over their options. ] But you should enjoy your meal before getting yourself into negotiations with the housing department. You might need it!

[ There's a nod as he approaches the counter. He takes Grell's suggestion, opting for the full breakfast platter and a cup of black coffee. ]

Choose what you want then. I should get a payment today so I'll have them add it to my tab for this afternoon.

[untodeath]

[ Grell beams, chipper when ordering-- though, instead of giving thanks to the worker behind the counter, she spins to plant a kiss on William's cheek! ]

Thank you, my love!

[ She accepts the items handed to her over the counter, affording them a more forced sort of smile. ]

I'm already looking forward to spending lunch together. My day will be so dreary without you.

[ While she previously would have gotten a shove for that kiss (at minimum!) all he tosses her is a warning look. His own tray is taken from the worker and he scans the room for an empty seat. Having his former coworkers whispering about them is irritating enough, so he certainly doesn't want to deal with any questions. ]

Get going. And I don't want to hear of any complaints from your new boss.

[ The warning look has her teeth pressing into her bottom lip as she grins! ]

You're the only boss I'll ever honour, Sir.

[ And with a wink, Grell is off, sipping at her iced coffee with an indulgent hum.

The next he sees her at lunch, she's already found herself a seat, cheek smooshed up in a palm as she rests into it tiredly. She doesn't even notice William at first-- but when she does catch sight of him, she perks right up, eyes alight! ]

Wiiilll♥~ [ Surprisingly, though, she doesn't shout it! Must be tired! ]

Then behave and do your job properly.

[ Though she's already off as he's giving instruction.

Lunch time having arrived, William approaches the table with his own coffee and pastry in hand. Not the best of lunch choices, but being an angel has its perks. Completely ignoring Grell's crooning of his name he stops before her, not bothering to take a seat. ]

Get up. We're eating elsewhere.
