[ William's brow furrows as she speaks. Still perplexed by her feelings towards him, yet oddly relieved to hear them. ]

Perhaps I'm just not used to someone wanting me around.

[ He takes her by the wrists, moving her hands off his chest and arm. Gently, for once. ]

Is there something else you wanted to do together?

Well, that is in the past, Will. I can't get enough of you.

[ Fine, if he doesn't want to be touched, she'll just skip a pace ahead of him! ]

Why don't we get some real food?

[ He'll let her skip on ahead, making no effort to catch up. ]

Choose something, then. I'm quite hungry, myself.

[ Twirling around to face him, she walks backwards for a few paces with her arms folded at the small of her back, humming in thought. ]

Mn~, I think I'd like a sandwich with a side salad~ [ Her eyes venture wayward. ] Why not that cute little cafe around the corner?

[ With a nod he sets off that way. The two of them are given a seat by the main window of the cafe after William turns down the waiter's offer of an outside table. It's far to chilly for his tastes, despite being mid-day. ]

[ Grell is all too content to cozy up by the window, feet outstretched to just casually rest her ankles against his as she flips open her menu. ]

What are you planning on getting?

I've hardly had a chance to look over the menu.

[ Though when the waiter comes by he orders his usual tea without hesitation. ]

[ Such does bring a giggle to the redhead. She's a bit more daring, opting to try the spiced apple tea. ]

So, what is your favorite food? Aside from chocolates.

Do chocolate chip cookies count as chocolate?

[ Important questions! ]

Will... [ She laughs. ] Yes, it does!!

I was making sure you weren't only referring to the kind of chocolates you gave me earlier.

[ He has to pause and think of what his second choice would be. ]

Fine. Cinnamon sugar palmiers.

[ Grell quirks a brow, mainly sceptical about whether that is truly what he meant - but, really, she just finds it adorable that he would feel the need to cover for himself around her at all. ]

You and your sweeties! [ There's an amused hitch to her breath, as she rests a cheek into her open palm. ] Though I'm rather weak when it comes to a rich chocolate cake, myself.

That's a top choice, as well.

[ After they order, William sets about adding cream to his tea and sweetening it just right. ]

I spoke with the Quiditch captain yesterday.

[ That has Grell perking up immediately! ]

Oh? And what was said?

[ She's much too intrigued to worry over her cup of tea at the moment! ]

He has already recruited the girl who lost out to me during tryouts.

[ Sipping at it, he nods at the perfect flavor. ]

Unsurprising as we have a game tomorrow. He needed to replace me as soon as he could.

[ With a huff, her expression sours! ]

Well. Give them tomorrow, then. I'm certain they'll be begging to have you back.

[ Finally, the redhead takes a sip at her own tea, licking over her lips. ]

I certainly don't wish to play against some-- second fiddle.

She is a perfectly good Beater. We often practiced together before tryouts. I would say we were neck and neck when it came to the final decision.

[ Mouth quirking off to the side, there's just the slightest bit of jealousy present while he speaks well of some other girl. ]

I highly doubt that-- [ Closing her eyes with a sniff, she stirs some sugar into her tea VERY thoroughly. ] but we'll see.

[ William's eyes narrow as she speaks. That tone doesn't bode well for the girl. ]

Don't go attacking her because of this. On or off the Quiditch pitch.

Why are you so concerned? [ Huffy pout commencing! ] Don't tell me you fancy her, Will.

[death_glare]

I don't. But that wouldn't be any of your business if I did, anyway.

[ Great. Why did he have to go and steer the conversation this way? ]

[ Brows knitting, a frown sets onto her lips as takes a gulp of tea, turning her attention out the window. Saying something like that while they were out, "not on a date" that is totally a date! He may have actually... hurt her feelings??? ]

If you're going to act like this, I will head back to the castle.

[ He looks across the cafe floor to see if the waiter is nearby. If he has to ask for a check and cancel his order, he will. ]

[ Eyes snapping pack to him, Grell inhales, pointedly setting her cup down! ]

What I'm acting like? [ She leans in, just short of raising her voice, but surprisingly maintaining some foresight not to. Maybe it's just the drama of a hushed anger that she's after. ] You're the one sending mixed signals-- doing things like asking me to be patient with you, then saying-- that.

I told you flat out that I don't fancy her.

[ Forgive the poor boy, he has no relationship experience. ]

And I doubt she has any interest in me, so stop being jealous over nothing.
