[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

[ He gives her a look before setting his menu aside. ]

Honestly, you think everything I do is cute.

[ With a skeptical hum, she plants her cheek atop a hand! ]

I wouldn't say that. Take last night, for example.

[ The redhead bats her lashes. ]

You're also sexy.

That's practically the same.

[ The waitress comes by bringing them the drinks they ordered when they were first seated. William pulls his cup of tea towards him, finding the sugar to sweeten it up. ]

That is not the same, Will.

[ Grell sets aside the menu to accept her beverage with a nod of thanks. ]

One makes me want to hold you and kiss your cheeks. The other makes me want to fuck you.

[ The waitress returned at the wrong point in their conversation, she realises, and turns on heel. ]

Judging by last night, they seem to occur in conjunction with one another.

[ William seems to have no issue with the waitress overhearing such things and even calls her back to give her their orders for pancakes. ]

I'll give you that!

[ Grell chuckles while stirring her own cup of tea, watching William with mild surprise. Seeing that he holds no shame for her freely speaking of such matters makes her heart swoon, really! There may even be a healthy rose kissing her cheeks. ]

[ Content that he won that little argument, he hands the waitress their menus before dismissing her. ]

So, larger closets are a must, I know that already. But, what else should I put in for when I speak with them about housing?

[ Shoulders rising with a brilliant grin, she leans in closer! Obviously, she still isn't over the excitement surrounding the topic. ]

Oh, a big tub and separate shower would be brilliant. [ She wags her brows once, insinuating she has a lot of ideas for those. ] And, more practically, a second bedroom! For your new hobby, whatever you decide it to be.

[ He nods in agreement with both. ]

It will also serve well as a place for you to sleep if you irritate me too much.

[untodeath]

[ With a gasp, she turns her head to shoot him a playful leer over her glasses. ]

Not funny, Will! Everyone knows it's the husband that sleeps in the doghouse.

[death_glare]

Good thing we aren't married, then.

[ He takes a test sip of his tea, finding it to be just sweet enough. ]

[untodeath]

Not yet.

[ She winks over the rim of her own teacup, while raising it to sample its taste. ]

[death_glare]

[ He counters her wink with a glare of his own! ]

Stop.

[untodeath]

[ Grell presses a finger to her lips, to keep herself from losing any of her tea while suppressing a laugh! Once she gathers herself, she sets her cup down with a shake of her head. ]

Oh, you're no fun. [ A beat, as she bites her lip to keep herself from grinning TOO much. ] Okay, I take that back, you're too fun to tease.

I will send you off to work with no breakfast if you keep this up.

[ That doesn't help with the teasing, but William doesn't seem to get that. ]

So cranky.

[ She rubs her ankle up along his, pushing up the hem of his slacks just enough to get some skin! ]

Thankfully, you've got a warm breakfast coming - and me - to cheer you up♥

So you are going to irritate me just so you can cheer me up later?

[ He's not surprised by this scheme she's got set up. ]

[ Her lips part with some feigned offence! ]

Or you'll be in such a right mind that silly little things won't bother you!

[ Though, he is right, isn't he? She didn't intentionally plot it out that way; it's just that he's really cute when he's mad, but then, she knows she shouldn't have made him mad in the first place, so she may have tried to fix it... though both work in her favour, surely... But what does it matter if they're both happy in the end, right? ]

I think that's near impossible.

[ It's almost like he wants things to annoy him. Perhaps it's just the norm between them that it'd feel odd if it remedied itself. ]

[untodeath]

[ She props a hand beneath her chin with the smallest huff. ]

We're certainly fortunate that we have one another, O ye of little faith.

I can't deny that after all that's happened.

[ That seems to have calmed him, the crease in his brow fading. ]

[ The corner of her mouth twinges a little higher, as she reaches out to place a hand over his. William is always so serious, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, cas in point. ]

[ He's nearly about to turn his hand over to take hers when the waitress arrives with their food. So, instead he takes up his fork and knife and sets about spreading butter over his pancakes. ]

[ While initially huffing about this, the pancakes are a tempting enough distraction; she, too, busies herself with dressing them. She's just much more hasty about it, so that she can get to the warm maple syrup.

Cutting into the stack, she finds it satisfying to watch the maple syrup ooze down onto the plate - but not as satisfying as taking that first bite! She nearly purrs. ]

Seems you enjoy your sweets just as much as I do.

[ Of course he's very happy with his chocolate chip pancakes, but Grell's showing it far more. ]
