Forgiven

[ No one questioned anything when William suddenly left his office that morning. "I've been called to a meeting" was all the information he gave the rest of Dispatch. To them, it wasn't surprising, seeing as he was the head of the department. For William, however, the summoning came with zero notice. As he made his way to the upper managements' offices, all he could wonder was what issue his subordinates caused that he'd have to clean up after, this time.

It wasn't until lunch break that William returned to Dispatch. The others expected they'd get reprimanded for something, but William remained quiet, his face expressionless as he closed the door to his office. ]

You don't even have anything in the house. We would have to get up and get ready in order to get anything.

[ He doesn't seem to into the idea of moving much either. ]

[ A huff! ]

So much for that, then... [ William could likely feel the pout against his neck! ] At least this is nice.

[ There's a second unintentional shiver. ]

You're getting a bit selfish with where you're touching.

[ Reaching to touch her head, he forces it back to where it'd been while they slept. ]

[ The redhead cries out in protest, as he's suddenly shoving her face away like that! ]

What do you even mean?! [ HUFF. ] Nothing about that was inappropriate!

[ Fully awake, she's quite sulky in the way she pulls herself back to a respectable distance. Not more than a moment later, she rolls onto her back, a hand gingerly resting over her chest. ]

So much for that, too.

I didn't say you had to move away entirely. I wanted you to stop tickling my neck with your face.

[ Huffing back at her, he props himself up. ]

Though, you sound even more selfish now. Complaining after I snuggled with you for a few hours.

[ At using the word 'snuggle', William may have made Grell's lips twitch into a smile briefly! Her mouth purses as she glances to him, though. ]

I'm complaining about how you ruined the moment.

[ Pushing herself up, she arches her back in a stretch, groaning tiredly - ad once she's sat up properly, turns her head to rest her chin against her shoulder and give him a properly pointed look! ]

Love is selfish, Will. Get used to it!

[ Ah, and things were starting to be so nice between them! ]

You are the one who took it that way. I was content to continue laying there together.

[ Her pouts receive a glare of their own and he shifts the covers to get up. ]

Precisely how many ways may one take having their head shoved at?

[ With a quirk of the brow, she crawls after him on her hands and knees, to the end of the bed. She reaches out to grab at the hem of his sleeve and bat her eyes up at him. An effort to show him that she doesn't want to keep pulling away. ]

You know very well that if I wanted you off me completely, you would have been shoved to the floor.

[ He will never be able to make sense of the flip flop between Grell wanting him to be rough and gentle. She does get him to pause and look back at her, though. ]

What?

I actually slept, you know. Perhaps better than I ever have.

[ Unless he bats her hand away, she'll let go of his sleeve to slip down and lightly grasp onto his palm, instead, giving it an appreciative little squeeze. ]

[death_glare]

That was the intent.

[ His features relax at hearing that. It truly was hoping she'd rest well. He looks down to where her hand clasps his. ]

So what now, then? Do you need more rest or something to eat?

[untodeath]

[ He hasn't protested yet, so she'll go on holding his hand as she considers his question. Blinking, eyes lowering to the floor in idle thought. ]

Well, perhaps a snack... and more rest after, if you'll join me.

[death_glare]

Fine. You're taking whatever I can scrounge up, though. There won't be anything open this late.

[ He finally takes his hand back, exiting the room. And he's gone for quite a bit of time. Having found next to nothing in her cabinets, William dresses himself more properly and makes a quick trip to the cafe at the reaper headquarters. The lady running the register seems quite surprised, and pleased, to see William again. Especially with the new radiance he automatically exudes. It wins him some on-the-house pastries and juice, which is good considering William doesn't have much money to his name, at the moment.

When he finally returns, he brings the snacks in to Grell before going to switch back into his pajamas. ]

Choose whichever you'd want, I'll take the other.

[ Grell certainly hadn't expected him to leave the flat for her, and she wasn't entirely keen on it! By the time he's back, he'll find her on the makeshift bed he'd made for himself on the couch, wrapped up in the blanket and listlessly thumbing through one of her books.

Hearing him return, she immediately perks up, snapping it closed to toss aside. ]

Will, you're back♥! [ Curiously craning closer to look at what he's brought, she takes the bag to peek inside-- and croons at what she finds! ]

You'd even allow me the chocolate one? You are an angel.

[ She's only teasing, though. She definitely wants the raspberry. ]

[ Even if he'd said she could have first pick, he still frowns at not getting the chocolate one. ]

Fine, if that's what you want.

[ Releasing the bag in her hands, he goes to find some plates for them. ]

Do you want to eat out here or in bed?

[untodeath]

Oh, bed. [ The response is immediate, leading into a wholly content sigh at the thought! ]

Going through all this trouble for me... It's sweet, you know.

[ Holding the bag to her chest as she wiggles out of her blanket to stand, she peeks after him before heading toward the bedroom. ]

[ The two bottles of juice in hand, he follows along. The drinks are set on his bedside table as he attempts to pile up his pillows well enough to support sitting up in bed. ]

Perhaps it's merely being an angel now, but I feel far more inclined to be than ever before. Or to show it, that is.

Is that what it is...

[ Once William appears to be satisfied with his setup, she crawls under the covers, and plops the bag down on her knees. ]

Not that I'm complaining, but I was hoping there might be something else, too.

I've already admitted that I care about you. Even before I was forgiven. So, you better not complain, even in the slightest.

[ Choosing the apple juice for himself, he hands the other to Grell and waits for his muffin. ]

I've said that I'm not.

[ As though to prove it, she hands him the chocolate - accompanied by a swift kiss to the cheek! ]

[death_glare]

[ That gets him to pause in taking the muffin, but he quickly blinks and gives her a side look. Though, that doesn't last long once he realizes which muffin she's handed to him. ]

Did you not want the chocolate one?

[ Ah, perfect. Grell giggles fondly, settling back with a self-satisfied smile and a shake of the head. ]

I was only teasing, Will. I know how fond you are of your chocolate!

[death_glare]

Ah. Thank you.

[ One of the few times he's thanked her for something. He settles down, as well, unwrapping the bottom of the muffin and separating it from the crunchier top. The top gets saved for last! ]

[ The lengths he'll go to for chocolate! Shaking her head in amusement, she finds herself watching him with curiosity. ]

Hm. [ Interesting approach - but she'll bit right into the top of hers, closing her eyes with a satisfied hum. Popping off the top of her juice, she'll take a swig to wash it down. ] I suppose you can tell a lot about someone by the treatment of their pastries.

[ William frowns at the random comment, slightly lost as to what the hell she's talking about. ]
