[ Ouch-- so icy, she can nearly feel a shiver spark down her spine! She softly gasps, as though it had.
After all, she doesn't wish to actually abide by that! ]
Will, please don't-- I'm sorry!
[ She's frozen in place until she sees him disappear beyond the door - but then, she's up to dart after him, chair skidding behind her. Perhaps she's already missed him, though. ]
[ And she has missed him! Though, if she's paid enough attention to his interests and what he likes to do in his free time, she may be able to figure out just where he ran off to! ]
[ Grell HUFFS mightily, but her determination only grows stronger! Wherever he's gone off to, she'll just have to find him.
First, she'll investigate the library, but has no luck in finding him there. Of course he isn't though; if he's angry, how will he concentrate on a book? She has to be more clever! Where would he go to soothe his nerves?
--Of course! The owlery!
She lets herself in quietly as she may, knowing very well that working them up would only have the owls alerting William to her presence before she has the chance. ]
[ William's sat in the highest part of the owlery, his own owl perched on the windowsill next to him. He's patting the owl's head while it munches on some food he gave her. ]
[ Grell creeps up to sit beside him, though keeping what one might even consider a 'respectable' distance between them. Reaching into her robe, she pulls out her robe - and quietly mutters a spell under her breath. ]
[ He should have known. At least he got a slight warning when Gregory's head perked up and swiveled to look at the person coming into the small room. William heaves a sigh as the red, sparkly words form in front of him. He swishes his hands through the whisps of red and it dissipates into nothing. ]
[ Looking down to her hands, her fingers fiddle around the raised detail at her wand's base. She can sense that William will only get more annoyed with her answer, but it isn't like her to be anything but forthright. ]
I'd thought that you might actually like being close to someone, if you weren't so-- relentlessly reserved. [ A pause, before she looks at him, quite confident! ] That someone being me.
[ And then her lashes flutter, before venturing wayward. ]
It isn't that I don't appreciate your stubbornness, I actually find it quite endearing. Perhaps I even find it cute that you're a bit of a loner, too-- [ Okay, know SHE'S huffing because she's beginning to go in circles! ]
My reasoning was primarily selfish, but I believe I'd also hoped it would help you, too.
So you thought forcing false emotions on me would bring us closer.
[ He shouldn't be surprised, but Grell's logic just does not process for him. He stands, aiming to move away from her and return Gregory to his nesting spot. ]
Honestly, even if you hadn't nearly poisoned me to death, I would be just as furious with you.
[ Done with this argument that seems to be going nowhere, William grabs his school bag, slinging it over his shoulder, and makes for the stairs leading out of the owlery. ]
I take back that maybe from earlier. I will not be seeing that film with you.
[ And he storms off, really only proving Grell's point more. ]
[ Grell slumps, expression falling to one of absolute shock!! ]
Will, WHY--
[ And she deflates with a sigh, sadly looking to the ground between her feet. It's covered with feathers and food and droppings, having her nose scrunching in distaste.
An owl beside her coos. ]
Oh, stuff it. Before I stuff you. I don't see why William likes the lot of you so much!
[ William's weekend goes surprisingly Grell-free. It's relieving yet...odd. But William brushes the thought that he potentially misses her and focuses on studying for his exams. Unfortunately, once the Sunday afternoon Quidditch match comes along, seeing her is unavoidable. Still, William makes it a point to look anywhere but at her as the teams enter the field. ]
[ Grell doesn't quite avoid the sight of him, but rather, ignores him! No attempt to meet his eyes with a loving glance, not even an inappropriate comment. She might as well have forgotten who he was-- that is, until one of her teammates catches sight of the boy, as they're preparing to take position on their brooms.
Well, look who it is! Your lover-boy! They say through laughter - but, immediately, Grell swings her bat up to knock the head of his broom handle up, sending him spinning in the air and screeching. ]
[ It's hard not to notice Grell's teammate suddenly shrieking as his broom gets thrown off balance. But all William does in response is shake his head and roll his eyes, then it's back to ignoring. Even the starting handshake between the different team players involves him purposefully choosing the other Slytherin beater over Grell! ]
[ Just as well, because Grell makes a point to be on the opposite side of the line! (Although, she does still find herself gritting her teeth with jealousy - leaving her with an aggressive grin that has the Slytherin boy shaking HER hand leaving as soon as he gets the chance.
As soon as the match begins, Grell is soaring towards the Bludger. Anyone in her way might find themselves backhanded by her bat, pummelled by the ball, or even shoved out of the way! Including William! ]
[ Thankfully, they've play enough games against one another that William's learned Grell's patterns for flying. If she gets too close, he's quick to zip away, and even smack the bludger back her way! ]
[ The challenge nudges Grell toward a significantly better mood - but, alas, she is just as stubborn as William, and thrice as reckless. Everyone else has grown so accustomed to the redhead focusing her attention on William, the rest is unpredictable! She's an absolute terror to handle, and many are throwing some choice words around the field.
Rather than pelt the ball back at William, she plays keepaway, throwing it at unsuspecting chasers from the opposing team! ]
[ The game ends in a Gryffindor victory, something Slytherins are never keen on. And once back in the locker rooms, changing and cleaning up from the game, William's teammates have quite a bit to say about his sudden inability to distract Grell from landing all those attacks.
William ends up leaving them behind, not caring about their opinions on Grell, or at least not wanting to care. Since when was it his job alone to take care of her? It leaves him in a more sour mood than usual as he makes his way to the dining hall for a late lunch. ]
[ On his way out, Grell catches his eye with a quirk of her brow. She opens her mouth to compliment him on his skill, but stops herself short, shortly clearing her throat and looking away!
She waits until he's gone to approach the Slytherin housemates who'd been giving him a hard time. ]
Hello, boys... [ Hands on her waist, she rolls her shoulders back, chin raising with a distasteful sneer. ] So, what's this you had to say about me, hn? [ She cuts off their snide remarks by slamming one of their lockers closed! ] I belong to no one.
[ Later, when she arrives to the dining hall, she's got scuffed knuckles and a good scrape on her cheek, but looks quite proud of herself! ]
[ It doesn't take long for William to find out what went down in the locker room after he'd left. Mainly because the surviving players wasted no time informing him on how he was to blame for this, as well. Seems like they didn't learn their lesson!
William's not having it, though. And on seeing Grell enter the dining hall, looks his captain dead in the eye. ]
I suggest you figure out how to deal with them yourself, then, as I won't be playing anymore.
[ With that he excuses himself from the Slytherin table, walking towards where Grell is seated at her own house's. ]
[ Grell's team is in a largely celebratory mood, willingly ignoring her behaviour in favour of assisting them in their win. She seems to be more interested in her meal, however; with a half a mouthful's worth of food, the redhead meets the sight of William. Setting down her fork, she leans into an elbow, concealing her mouth with a napkin.
Why is he here? To yell at her, she presumes. She only quirks her brow high with inquiry!! ]

Can I not get a moment's peace from you?

I didn't want to just leave you upset. Bottled up all day, kept to yourself. You know you would.

What about any of this made you think giving me a love potion would be a good idea?
